Sorcery » Sorcerous Armour question » 11/15/2022 7:34 pm |
no, it actually didn't even come up in a game. for whatever reason none of my casters ever picked it up. I just happen to read it and thought about it wrong and was like that seems over powered.

3-6 hours depending on if both groups meet that week. I may have a problem...

Swordsmen & Sorcerers » Paladin a question of honor » 9/26/2022 5:01 am |
So, I have been running a West Marches style game with the Caves of Chaos being our first adventure area. So one of my groups had a scout and a fighter go into the room with the medusa. The medusa promplty turned the scout to stone the fighter saved and ran from the room. The party closed the door up and wrote on the outside "medusa" on the outside of the door and moved on.
This was the scout players second and last game, he wasn't terribly impressed with how the other players handled this situation. Neither was I but the character who barred the door and marked it was a paladin, this seems very much out of the code for paladins I just wanted to hear some other opinons on this.
I am tending towards a revocation of powers with the possiblity of an atonement quest. to get back into the gods good graces.

I may be missing it but I don't see anything about caltrops. does anyone know where these may be? or does anyone have rules they use on caltrops they would be willing to share?

This film follows a Contubernium of Roman soldiers north of Hadrian's wall. I don't want to get into details too much and spoil anything. This is pretty good it's a bit slow at times but for those of us who like Roman soldier flicks this is pretty decent.
check it out

thanks you got my question
Sorcery » Sorcerous Armour question » 5/13/2022 4:01 pm |
ok, let me do it with an example. joe the adventurer has 4 hp and casts sorcerous armour. so does this effectivly give him 15 hit points. say he has ac 10 until he takes 11 points of damage and the last 4 hp would be at the leather ac. so he gets hit for 5 hp leaving him with either 6 hp left in his magic armour, or did he just die? hopefully that makes my question more clear.
Sorcery » Sorcerous Armour question » 5/12/2022 6:16 pm |
When I read this spell, it sounds like you get a little bit of AC leather equivilent if I am remembering correctly. The part I am having trouble with is the part where it is dispelled after taking so many points of damage. does this effectivly work like temp hit points worked or are these working concurrent with your pool?
sorry if i am just being a hammer with this question.

Rats in the walls is a great little starter adventure. Ghost Ship of the Desert Dunes was great as well.

It's there in his blog post, first column of the table.
"All Dwarves need 15% more experience per level to level up than humans of the same class," etc.
This being a high-fantasy setting, one also presumes Humans can aspire to levels above 12. But so, perhaps, can demi-humans?
I did see that part. The all get magic eyes and spells and stat bonus and skills and they all sound very nice, thought maybe he had something to make the humans a bit more enticing was all, and not mentioned since this was focused on Demi-humans.

Swordsmen & Sorcerers » Treasure Hunter Class » 9/25/2019 6:06 am |
Cool class, sounds fun. My only criticism that has not already been put down is the level progression is the same as a fighter. seems it should be at least a bit slower for gaining all of those extra skills.
Sorcery » Command and hold person » 9/24/2019 6:06 am |
Command - So foolishly I had not read this spell till right before it was used, so I didn't realize the differences from other systems version till that moment. Duration of 6 rounds. So would most people just have the victim just "fall" down and then he can get back up or is he stuck down for the full minute? I ruled that after they attacked it, the werewolf was free to get back up. Any one care to share how they rule on this?
Hold Person- Duration 1 hour this seems crazy long to me is it possibly a mistake. would you grant another saving throw if they attack the person, or is the person vulnerable to insta kill? Our situation Lodinn made the save on the hold but it got me thinking so i was prepared for it in the future.
Part of why I questioned it was these spells were going to negate the encounter that I was thinking would be at least a challenge. It ended up a bit underwhelming,Also I don't care to punish the players for playing smart either.

General Discussion » Æthereal and undead » 5/06/2019 2:23 pm |
I have been prepping and converting Tomb of horrors for some friends come this halloween. So the list at the end got me thinking specifically the power word kill pronounced by an Æthereal magic user. So is the Demi lich residing in the ethereal and this is what makes him vulnerable? should this type of thing extend to other spells? just to use the list from the original adventure holy word seems like a prime candidate to be more effective if the caster was also Æthereal. Would this type of thinking extend to other undead, not skeletons or zombies but some of the incorporeal undead ? Just some rambling thoughts and questions. Wanted to hear what others thought.
