Convention and Game Day » Gary Con XI (2019) » 3/15/2019 6:35 pm

Echoing other sentiments, great con, great fun this year. Really enjoyed running my S. Kane hack. I had a mixed bag of players throughout my four sessions. Some were familiar with the game, a lot of them were not but had a good time. I think that's a good thing, more exposure means more sales for Jeff by those who get swept up in the fun.

Any chance you can prep my game or cure my cold for me before you leave?

got my own cold knocking me around right now.

I'll see your cold and raise you two patient zeros with the flu. Lol. Both my wife and daughter went to the doc earlier this week and tested positive for the flu. Luckily for me, it seems I was lucky enough to roll an 18 CON and aside from a little unusual fatigue for a day, my immune system has been doing it's job and not succumbing to it.

Hope you feel better before Wed!

Rules Discussion » Clarification: Shaman, Medicine Man » 2/19/2019 6:34 pm

Great, thanks for the feedback. DMP's post was my initial inclination but wanted to make sure I hadn't assumed anything.

Rules Discussion » Clarification: Shaman, Medicine Man » 2/18/2019 7:03 pm

The ability states that the shaman can treat natural poison and disease, however, I was wondering when the ability confers to the shaman the knowledge that the affliction is not of a natural source? Is it prior to initial treatment (during first examination of the affliction) or is it only after seemingly natural symptoms are treated and noticeably not working (days, weeks, etc), that the shaman can surmise that the disease is not of natural origin?

Thanks.

Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Solomon Kane (SK1)

Thursday 7pm - 11pm
Friday 1pm - 5pm
Sunday 11am - 3pm

In the winter of 1609, the settlers of Jamestown Fort struggle to survive harsh, unforgiving elements, shortages of food, disease, and unrest among the native people. Spurred by an urgent plea from Sir Walter Raleigh, Solomon Kane and his companions must sail to the New World and face an ancient enemy that poses an even greater threat to the survival of the new settlement and the very souls of those within.

As Kane watches their approach from the deck of the ship, his hand slips down into his coat, pulling out a folded, yellowing piece of paper. Reading the letter once again, his eyes linger on the last few lines:

“I beg of you, set sail immediately; I can arrange for quick passage. You and your companions are the only ones I can trust in this, the King and court would think me mad should I bring this matter before them. May God have mercy and I pray that I am wrong, but I believe a great evil is about to befall the colony of Jamestown. It is but for a single word that I say this, one that Captain White first discovered etched in a fence post during his search for those belonging to the lost colony some eighteen years ago. It’s the same word that John Smith screamed, over and over, only two nights ago during a frenzied, maddened sleep as I stood by his bedside, frozen in stark terror.

The word, Solomon, was ‘CROATOAN’.”

My book arrived today! I was a bit worried at first, the box in one corner was torn open so I was expecting the book to possibly be damaged but as luck would have it, everything was good. It's fantastic to finally get this in hand. Great work by Jeff and everyone who put effort into this.

Hyperborea » Atlanteans in your campaign » 9/28/2017 7:18 pm

I generally run them as having only the slight appearance, the body parts being mostly vestigial and more or less useless, but still noticeable.

Although in my version of Hyperborea, there are also rumors that the Atlanteans of old still exist somewhere deep beneath the sea in one form or another. Whether that is true or not has yet to be discovered.

I was also worried about the bleed through and when I printed out some pages it wasn't too bad. I'm guessing the better paper and printer that Ghul is using will further mitigate that worry.

Yep. Brighter paper with a heavier weight will help mitigate bleed when printing double-sided. Also, depending on whether it's an ink or laser printer will make a difference, laser having less of a bleed effect. For either one I would suggest at least 24lb bright white, for laser 20lb might be ok.

General Discussion (Off-Topic) » What are you watching? » 9/17/2017 1:46 pm

Planning to see IT this coming Friday on my day off. My wife and I have been watching the TV series Midnight, Texas. It's a little on the cheesy side but entertaining enough we haven't felt the need to quit watching, yet. Recently finished up season two of Colony, which I enjoyed, looking forward to season three. Trying to catch up on Supernatural, finishing up season 11 and then on to season 12. Patiently awaiting S2 of Stanger Things.

General Discussion (Off-Topic) » What are you reading? » 9/17/2017 1:40 pm

Recently finished the 12th book, Changes, in the Dresden Files series. Just started The Alehouse Murders, the first book in the Templar Knight Mysteries series by Maureen Ash.
