Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Selene is gone.
The mute-wolves fall silent as Turok pushes  against the door. It opens as darkness again swallows the world outside this magical circle of light.
Turok jumps back. The broken step is all that can now be seen of the hut.
The confused mutes shiver on the ground, half naked in shredded underclothes.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Turok pauses for a moment listening intently...at least his has an answer to the question of how Selene affects the mutes.

Handing his warclub to one and the iron rod to the other signing for them to watch the doorway, Turok grabs a torch from his backpack and lights it hoping that will keep them warm [kinda] until they figure out what is going on.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The mutes regain their senses, but still wonder how they have come to this place without their leather coats and packs.
They take the weapons and wait for the torch to take.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

If the magician doesn't answer Tillak, then he moves on further. [I'm so sorry. I wasn't getting any alerts as to game activity.]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The man remains entranced. The worm shakes his head and returns to sleep.

Tillak gives up and leaves the domed chamber, and heads up to the kitchen.
The door hangs open, but Tillak can clearly see the bloody gouges in the cellar side of the door. He is amazed at the light that glows within the kitchen as he steps through.

There is light outside the high windows.
There is light in the chapel beyond the burnt out doorway and yet outside the church beyond.
He wonders if this work of magic is that that has drained away the lifeforce of Narrhil...

[ If ... ] The torch takes and sputters into a glow, Turok signals the two to be ready and shines the light into the doorway... hopefully prepared for whatever it reveals.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The torch does light. The mutes quake from cold and try to brandish Turok's weapons higher. Turok extends the torch arm length through the magical sphere of light.
Beyond is the facade of a weather worn house of wood, built by experienced hand, but fallen into disrepair by age. There is a small porch area 20 ft wide running the width of the house raised one step up from the ground, the step snapped in half previously by you. If there was a railing it is long since removed. Several coils of old rope on the edge to your right. The door is narrow only about 2ft wide, made of two single foot planks. It is slightly warped in the jamb, and ajar.

Trees to the northwest creak. The mutes' teeth chatter. The soft hush of air moving from the west. Silence from the hut.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Extending the torch in front of him,Turok cautiously tests the floor beneath him and tries to get close enough to see inside.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The porch floor holds as Turok steps to the door.
The torchlight flickers inside across 3 large dark shapes on the floor.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Turok strains to identify the shapes on the floor of the shed, testing the porch again he tries to move closer bringing the torch in more.
