Tillak waits, flint and tinder in hand, ready to light the torch as soon as possible.
Tillak feels the sensation of movement but can't be sure with no light reference.

TIllak attempts to sit up. If he can, he uses the flint and tinder to light the torch that he has with him.

Tillak sits up and lights the torch.
His head and shoulders are up through the floor of a roughly 15 ft diameter domed space about 8ft high in the center. In the middle of the area is a mound covered with a decaying frock. there is an empty inkwell over turned near a quill.
There appears to be piles of bone beyond but he cannot be sure from where he is.

Tillak attempts to discern movement. Is the floor dusty? Is there any evidence of Votin being there? Is there a light source other than TIllak's torch?

Only light is Tillak's torch. There appears to be a hole in the wall across the space, but it is dark beyond.
There is no dust on the floor.

Tillak moves forward, with his torch in one hand and is war pick in the other.

Tillak climbs out of the drawer and approaches the lumped fabric. It is a worn out tunic covering a corpse. Its skin is dried to rawhide and clings tightly to the skeleton within. Around the body is a spilled inkwell(long dried), a quill, a crumped parchment, several empty glass bottles. Between here and the wall are 3 piles of scattered bones, 3 rusty daggers among it all. There is a 3x3x3 block of stone on the floor in front of an equal sized opening in the wall.

Tillak attempts to read what is on the parchment.

The frayed parchment is crushed inside the frozen claw of dried leathery skin, which is warm to the touch. One finger is encircled with a thin gold band.
Tillak manages to extract the paper. He has to put his torch down on the floor to unfold the crinkled parchment. He holds it toward the light revealing the lines in dark ink by shaky hand.
It was so fast she gathered the children and they fell to her breast...We fled in all directions. Their fates I know not...
But here I hide.
Something is come.
I know not which foul beast from below comes but Oh! the wails of the daemon are chaos in mine ears! And though with fingers plugged, it peels out my mind. Oh! curse this Nightfall!
The children scream. They sense me here. I can feel them pushing against the stone. My heart breaks but fear overwhelms me. I am damned. I am disgrace.
This silence is worse than their screams...
I worry to come out.
My candle is faint...soon darkness.

Tillak folds the payment and slips it in his tunic. He takes his pick and torche in hand and continues to search the chamber for evidence of Votin.

[Is Tillak taking the parchment? or placing it inside the dead figure's tunic?]
No evidence of Votin can be seen in the chamber. There are empty bottles on the floor, piles of bone, and 3 rusty knives, a quill, an an empty inkwell. The 3x3x3 stone sits in front of the 3x3 opening in the wall.

Frustrated at this point Votin backtracks down the stairs to see if he can find another way in.

Tillak is taking it. It may need to be studied, further.

Votin decends the steps inside the wall. He returns to the small room of shelved glass bottles.

Tillak notices a flicker of light deep inside the 3x3 hole in the wall.

Tillak moves closer to the hole and sees how close he can get to the hole before he can see what's on the other side without putting his ey to the hole.

Votin reexamines the racks of vials...perhaps he missed something the last time, maybe another entrance to the room upstairs.
