Sigrun matches the Esquimeaux’s cold glare with her own. “He was at the edge of my camp. I did not want him to catch the attention of either the men who are not men or the ormr. I told him not to make a noise, and he did. I knocked him out cold rather than run him through with my spear.  Who are you? Why are you out here?”

“Come in peace, then, and see your brother,” Sigrun replied. She relaxes her stance and waits.

Tillak begins to think of his spell while raising his shield in a defensive posture and crouching.

Her voice is cold, haughty even as she remembers her bloodline. "I am Sigrun, daughter of Hjallmar Half-Hand, son of Ulfgar Bear-Killer," she roared out,  slamming the butt of her spear into  the ground. "Your brother is alive, for the moment.  The great ormr, the serpent has left, the men who are not men are dead and scattered.  I have no quarrel with you but if wish me harm or foul trickery, I will fight till my last breath leaves my lips.  I haver not seen humans in these lands in for...some time.  I would talk in peace. If not, we go on our own way."

"What say you?"

With the ormr now gone Sigrun then rose from her crouch and slowly advanced from beyond the tree line and it’s natural cover, revealing herself to those below. Planting the butt of her spear and holding her shield, her eyes hard as the land around her, her posture was that of a challenge.

Let’s see how the two respond, she thinks.

Sigrun will step over the prone form on the ground and will look to see who is left of the ormr’s wrath.

The barbarian moves his chin up so the huntress can just kill him in one easy strike, and starts to buckle his belt back up - whether she murders him or not.

"Well? Did the dragon hear me? I would WELCOME a dragon eating me to the day I've been having. Unless you're a well-cooked meal and a very comfortable hammock, I have nothing to say to you!"

If only for a second, Sigrun is impressed at the man offering his bare throat. But it was a short second and Sigrun hissed, "Ullr knows you've spoken too much. If you fight like you talk, the dread ormr would surely be dead." Before she allows him to buckle his belt completely, the spear is a blur as she swivels the butt around to knock him out.

OOC: Iron Ranger, how do we do this?  Do you roll or do I? Is a roll needed as Kondor his kneeling/haunching, exposing his neck for her to strike?

OOC: fireinthedust: Hey man, I totally get it.  We each gotta play our parts.  I can't wait and see how our characters are going to get along, if at all. No F's given in return, LOL!

Sigrun watched quietly as the stranger before her removed his sword, her cold blue eyes as sharp as the tip of her spear.  Her voice when she spoke was still low and firm.  "The ormr is angry and too powerful to defeat, by one or many. Make no noise as to attract the ormr's attention, nor test me, if you wish to live.  When the beast passes, then we talk."

OOC:
Forgive my sudden absence.  I was in the ER when I replied last. My stay in the hospital took longer than was anticipated and today I was finally discharged.  The drug-induced euphoria has worn off and I'm level headed enough to join in again. Again, my apologies for leaving everyone in the lurch.

The one thing we shouldn’t forget is that both Roy and Bruce worked with John Buscema on Conan.

She sat on her haunches within the small clearing, a young woman swaddled in hides and furs.  She's holding onto a short spear tipped with worn yet good steel free of rust, the weapon upright, butt against the ground.  The camp fire before her is unlit, the coals now cold as she couldn't risk a fire with so many tracks of the men-who-were-like-beasts nearby.

She's listening to the sounds of battle beyond the ridge. She knows the sounds.  She knows there's a Ormr down there as well.  She's heard it, smelled the ozone of its terrible breath.  She knows she's only one warrior.  Best to stay out of it, she thinks.

Suddenly there's a sound carried with the breeze.  Her head swivels.  Once filled with baby fat, the pretty face of youth was now one of savage beauty as pale blue eyes limmed by dark soot from the camp fire searched for the source of the noise. There, in the brush, was the figure, its back towards her at the edge of the ridge.  She rose from her haunches, spear in one hand while pulling the shield from her back with the other.  She's a tall woman, her body lean and muscular under her furs and hides, with curves where it mattered.  A mane of ash white hair framed one side of her face, both loose and braided tresses falling well past her shoulder, the other side of her scalp shorn to the skin and painted with Norse symbols with woad.

She moved quietly toward the figure in a crouch, her movements fluid and graceful.  The bands, fetishes and feathers were bound, tied and affixed to her hair and braids so as to not make a noise.

She will attempt to sneak up behind the figure in armor.  If successful, she will press the tip of her spear against the base of the skull and whisper in a feminine voice laced with a hard edge. "Careful. Make no sound or any sudden move or this spear goes through your head and out your mouth.  With the fingers of one hand, take each weapon you have and slowly toss them away."

Recruiting for a a series of adventures in and around Khromarium with the tavern by the name of the Bronze Lamprey as the 'home' of the player characters.  I'm using the 2e rules of AS&SH with some home rules.  Characters will start at 1st level with maximum HP. Stats are rolled 3d6 for each, arrange to suit your character. I expect there to be role-play and character development and not just one-line posts.  I'll be setting up a Google Drive thing where we can all share files i.e., character sheets, maps, and images.

This will be the IC thread, so if there are any questions, please PM me.

Cool horror-fantasy flick that feels very Hyperborea. Little slow at first, but totally worth it. I give it 3/3 chainsaws.

I enjoyed it very much. Very well done for a budget of 30 grand.

Definitely interested in a PbP if roleplay and character development is encouraged.

I’ll be taking you up on that offer then.  I thrive on roleplay and character development.  Just need a couple more players. If need be, I can run two players. I intend to run smaller, much smaller adventures than say, a dungeon that would take years in real time to finish.

There were players in search of a 2E AS&SH game on Unseen Servant, and there's several games rockin' here. Let me know if you start one here and I'll let the folks over there know, just in case they are still interested.
Good luck! PbP of generally my preferred games right now, because it's easy on the schedule and because I can try new games without knowing the rules too well. Learn as you play!
Be well Crawdad!

Thanks a plenty for the feedback. Who/where do I go about starting a new game here?

Hey all, Crawdad here.  After a long hiatus from RPGs, I wanted to do something different than LOTR inspired games and backed the Kickstarter for 2e.  I love this game!  I just need a group to play this with!  Anyhoo, wanted to drop in and say hi.
