Hyperborea is by far my preferred  system for fantasy roleplaying-- even when I run AD&D Waterdeep/Undermountain. Now I use Hyperborea as the core game & hack in a homebrew "race as class" system for Elves, Dwarves & Halflings. also converted to ascending AC.  can't be the only one right?

I've been playing a more traditional D&D game with Hyperborea, plus OSE-AF to fill in the gaps. I like the classes of Hyperborea and it worked since one of my players wanted to play a necromancer. It's been going well, my players poked around a goblin lair and are currently going through The Rats in the Walls. I also flip the AC.

I like the way Hyperborea addresses the balance and leveling issues caused by multiclassing in other iterations.

It's OK, but now you have to replace your Clark Ashton Smith photo with J.K. Rowling. I kid, I kid! Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law.
