There is a discussion under Sorcery about this if you want to look through that (Dispel Magic vs Instant Attack spells)

While in my soul forever
The drums of Pictdom sound?”

I don't have my books at the moment. Is it something along the lines of, if you have a DM memorized, you can use it to block an opposing spell, with odds of success modified by the two magicians' relative Casting Abilities (CA)?

More broadly, my knee-jerk reaction is, I like the concept of a counter-spell system, but implementing it well, where there's added fun, but it doesn't degenerate the magician into merely a "spell shield," seems challenging. When I think of quick solutions, I almost always end up back at one of my old hang-ups with corruption rules (basically, makes class less fun).
