If you look up the artist on a Google image search you see some similar work-over-crowded weird islands and ruins. A little different than the usual, but still evocative of the setting, I believe.

Those are great. I can picture the first as a secluded island-monastery devoted to Apollo where the PC's can discover a clue to the location of the fabled Sun-sword of Ardys...
