I'm probably in the minority, but I loved the spiral bound books. Super functional and mine have held up well. Not "collector quality" well, maybe, but definitely "table copy" well (and I traveled with them quite a bit in my backpack).

Just asking like that, is there any link to that Cryomancer class?

Good question. It was published in Scalydemon's print-only (and excellent) zine AFS, so I'm not sure if there's an online version anywhere. I was wondering the same thing recently.

That said, here's the zine:

Not sure what shipping to Canada will be like.

Thank you Handy! Whatever I am paying you please remind me to double it.

I'm on a tight budget right now Scaly (helping out my girlfriend with university). But this summer i'll probably buy all your 6 issues of AFS mag in one bundle. I'll email you at that time. Can't wait to read them all

Hey, I appreciate that. I hope I have some left by then. Issues 1-6 are limited to the stock I have on hand as I have tried to mention on here and elsewhere. I am at the point now where I do zero advertising trying to sell the zine as I want the remaining stock to go to cool folks like the people here (via word of mouth etc) that would appreciate and get use out of the articles and adventures. (There is quite a bit of specific AS&SH content in the zines thanks to the generosity of people like Jeff, Ben, Joseph etc.)
Right now I have more in stock of some issues than others. I'd say on average I have about 6-8 copies left of most of them or the covers etc to produce them).

I am still hopeful of getting issue #7 out at some point (with the sweet Stephen Fabian cover). Serious contributions have been lacking though - it seems like everyone has their own projects going on now and there are so many other zines out now competing than when I started this project back in 2009 when it was somewhat unique and fresh to produce a fanzine. (I don't have lay any blame on anyone at all just stating why things haven't materialized yet). A big part of it is my lack of pushing it to be as well, though I have reached out to several authors I like individually and been met with not much to show. Assuming issue 7 comes to be it will certainly end the run.

Anyways thanks again for your interest, and game on! (sorry for the thread hi-jack on AS&SH 2nd printing)

I have a request for this project, but I don't know if it is a major or minor request.

I'll certainly buy a copy of the hardback, but I am not a fan of all-in-one hardbacks.  I'd like to be able to print the 6 volumes individually from the PDF and bind them as appropriate.  So, I'm asking if it is possible to layout the PDF so that the 6 volumes start on the "right hand page", so to speak.

I'm sure Jeff will jump in to correct me if need be, but I believe what you describe is still the plan. We're still looking to make a separate, perfect-bound Players' Manual available, containing only VOLUMES I–III, in addition to the complete hardcover containing VOLUMES I–VI. The Players' Manual will be laid out identically to the first half of the hardcover so that page references remain consistent (i.e., page 56 of the softcover will be the same as page 56 of the hardcover; the hardcover will just have more pages).

Exactly so! Although I'm not 100% on perfect-bound, as spiral-bound has been so popular and well received, I may stick with that format for the Players' Manual.

awesome, thanks guys!

I also prefer spiral-bound to softcover (although I would prefer an all-inclusive hardcover to either one).

The 3rd edition Call of Cthulhu hardcover is one of my favorite gaming products of all time.  This could top it.

Re: AS&SH 2nd Print?

I also love the spiral bound for table play. Seems popular with my players.

I have to give some love to the spiral bound as well!

Re: AS&SH 2nd Print?

I agree with the idea of a hard cover full rules book with a spiral bound player's guide for table use.  (Me, too!)

Re: AS&SH 2nd Print?

I'm like a 5 sigma outlier. I don't really care about the binding of the book. I'll print out the pdf and bind it up the way I like...and then get Ghul to sign the cover...again.

However, I look forward to the hardback books.

What? Me worry?

Re: AS&SH 2nd Print?

I took the covers off of my 5th ed MM and took it up to KInkos - they spiral bound it for me for about 6 bucks -

Working on some of the illustrations for the hardcover. Here is a teaser.... This is only a close-up of the monster's head. No spoilers here!

Re: AS&SH 2nd Print?

The new HYPERBOREA map is going to be much larger than the original. Working with Glynn Seal of Monkey Blood Designs, we've come up with a model that is 32 x 40 inches. Here is a comparison to the old map:

The plan is to have this map fold accordion style to an 8-inch square, so three folds vertically, four fold horizontally. The map will then be tucked into the hardback. There is a lot more, but that's all I'm willing to share at the moment, because Glynn and I are still discussing all the details. But for comparison's sake, I thought it might be neat to share with you fine fellows just how much larger this thing will be! No more squinting at those tiny hexes! ;)

Cheers,
Jeff T.

Re: AS&SH 2nd Print?

While I love the idea of a larger map please be aware that some printed materials do not hold up well to repeated unfolding and folding.

This is true! And it's part of the reason I made a choice to go with an actual map printing specialist -- a company that does maps exclusively, as opposed to a poster making company. The maps these people produce are intended to be used for everyday use on trails and elsewhere. They are durable and high quality. Based on the samples I've been provided, I am expecting amazing results!
