Turok follows the mutes by retrieving a ration out of his backpack...while eating he thinks about the stairs going down in the kitchen and plans to mention it to the pair after they finish eating.

The much needed quick rest and food is a welcome relief to minds, bodies, and spirits of the nervous trio.

Narrhil offers Tillak the magical bowl, and the wooden spoon to get his energies back.

Tillak eats from the proffered bowl. (If there's food in it.)

When Tillak places the spoon into the bowl as Narrhil shows him, the bowl instantly fills with gruel.
[and the much needed nourishment adds another 4HP to Tillak's recovery.]

After the pair of mutes have finished their rations and dusted off all of the crumbs and debris Turok makes a proposal..."How about we check out the stairs in the kitchen that lead down and see where they go?"

They both shrug as if on cue, but Ferrand holds Turok back, his voice low as he tries to mouth, "How will the scouts know where we're gone?"

"We'll leave them some sort of trail mark."

[Is there a rate of recovery that I need to roll for? Also, how many times can I eat from the bowl? ]

[ 6-8 hours of proper rest recovers dHD + CON bonus. ]
[The bowl has always filled up to this point in the game. If that continues Tillak could potentially eat until he pukes and I don't know if that would even stop him.]

Narrhil guards the closed secret passage. "With the Great Worm as our ally, and a neverending supply of food and moisture from the stew, we could survive here till the sun once more hovers over our heads and then begone from this accursed place. But this task given to us by the Witch-Ghost would forever plague us!"
"Thing is, with a portal through time," he continues, "we could comeback ten years from now, and still travel to the right time in the past, and with that we could be able to garner more power, and men to aid in our quest!"

Turok picks up a burnt piece of wood and makes some simple runes on the wall with the end of rhe wood. He also gathers some loose stones(if available) and builds a small dolmen indicating their presence here.
[generic runes, non magical...which Turok should know to read and scribe scrolls...unfortunately he can't do the Runegraver thing.]
"If you two are ready, let us explore below the kitchen..."

The pews are the last burned wood here, two are tied together holding the broken front doors together. Most of the others look were burned previously in a spot near the open doorway next to the dais.
Turok manages to find enough small pieces of charcoal left in the pit to make his marks and then carefully place them together in careful balance and alignment ....but the mutes think this dolmen looks more like an animal snare. They chuckle and pulling their dirks from sheaths, disappear into the next room.
