    [ Just for clarity...when you say mute, do you mean deaf as well as can't speak? Is it just the 
    brothers? or the scouts as well? Did these guys just earn their Junior Woodchuck badges or the scouts just out of their environment?]

    Turok looks over the maze of trails and pretty much concludes any fresh trails would be hard to discern.

    Ferrand and Akeley squeeze through the opening and try to discern which of the prints leading  -  south out of the dome of mysterious light. -  north out of the mysterious light,  -  west out into much more of the mysterious light could be those of the Scouts or if they separated in 3 directions. And if so, what made the noise inside the Church?

    [Akeley and Ferrand are not deaf. (I sent their tale to you elsewhere.)
    They are not Scouts.


    The Scouts have been gone for several hours now.]
