I was born too late to catch it originally so I only got to see it as an adult after the DVD released, and I really like it. It's got an overtly childish veneer that I don't blame people for bouncing off of, but there's some solid stories in there and the animation is great. I would definitely put the D&D cartoon above He-Man and probably on the same level as Thundercats.
It's weird they only got official stats in the 3e era though, as far as I know. You'd think they'd have BECMI stats floating around.
