Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

'Could be a well or a cart,' ponders Narrhil, he took note of the location and planned to investigate as soon as he felt better. He casts detect magic once more, and wanders the temple main, the kitchen and down into cellar and domed chamber.

[He taking his time, so if first spell ends, he will cast the other Detect Magic. I know I done this before, but he might have been rushing, so this time he examining every corner...]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

In the chapel, The ring on Narrhil's finger begins to shimmerlight. The wand in his hand too.
All of the ice daggers with the glowing dots of violet cyanish. light  stuck into the front doors do the same.
As does the melted harp in the corner.
Light shimmers from within Narrhil's pack.

The kitchen, the steps within the wall, the cellar are bare.
In the dome, the worm and the withered corpse both shimmer.

[They came from Narrhil's hands, not a flying entity. There are many, but their strange illumination is fading away. Narrhil has seen this before.]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

[Ah, the magical attack, got it].

Narrhil keeps examining thee temple, giving the harp another look, he presumed it had lost its magical power after the vision. He ponders fixing it. [Could he reattach the strings, or make new ones for it. How warped is it, and how heavy?]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

[Yes, when you were trying to cast a mere ice dart or something at the dog, the unexpected onslaught of these violet daggers exploded from Narrhil's hands, then the ink faded away and the warmth returned, was the events.]
The harp is bent, there are two strings that Narhill has reattached. It could be lifted once but it is melted into the stone floor.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Reality begins to spin and again the hollow echoing of screams filled Narrhil's mind but distant.
He stands in a clearing, the snow is trampled at his feet. A figure approaches him silhouetted by flames .

"Who may you be?" asked Narrhil in his dream-like state.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The words echo like music in Narrhil's mind behind his closed lips. The figure and dog amble past silently,  revealing the burning church in the distance, both smelling of fire and pitch and without any notice of the cryomancer at all.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The figure and its dog slowly move, only the hound's paws making the soft crunch against icy snow, it's strong pants sending tufts of condensate rising.
Tiny slivers of candle light quickly extinguish off to the right and left, but the figure ignores it.
Narrhil hears quieted whispers as he follows behind at unnoticeable distance.

The trees begin to block the dim star glow that is illuminating Narrhil's prey.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Narrhil moves faster, he does not want to lose them. 'Was this the witch before the destruction, no, it was said that she die in the blaze protecting the children, and the church was smouldering before them!' Narrhil ponder more, 'this could not be Auziwandilaz, she said he diguised himself as her!'

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Narrhil catches up in the darkness to see the shrouded figure ahead crossing a frozen stream on a rope bridge while the dog waits.  Once the figure is across, the dog follows.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Narrhil hastily moves to the rope-bridge and crosses. There was something to learn here, and he sincerely needed to know what it was...
