Keét whistles and mutters to himself. "Probably should have just walked around" as he passes through and drops down.

Effortlessly Keet drops to the stone floor and moves to the dirk.
[Keet +150XP]
But stops in tracks when he hears dull metal ratcheting coming from below.

"Whoever it was might have spied us at our lunch and waited till we left to enter!" Said Narrhil to Votin. He looks down watching Kéet enter the kitchen. "Be wary," he hisses towards the Half-Pict.

Xathoqqua's slimy balls, Kéet thinks as he pulls his axe and looks around for the ratcheting sound.

"Perhaps, but look closely. These tracks never left."

The sound is coming through the cellar door from below.

[Does the door open inwards towards the room and Kéet or outwards towards cellar? Or is it a trapdoor in the floor?]

"They never left? perhaps it could fly or could teleport Sir Votin!" Exclaimed Narrhil, somewhat concerned. He had fought against the wolves of this region, and they could smell blood, fear and were lead by a talking wolf, any stray person could be a target.

"The prints only led up the staircase. Then to here."

Narrhil near scratches his head, then looks up.

The door is in the SE corner on South wall. It opens into the Kitchen from a very narrow 2ft staircase inside the stone wall. very steep down to the cellar.

Kéet quickly crosses over tot he door and sees if there is a lock on it; or a way to wedge the door shut. Failing that he will just brace his back against the door and shout out.
'Hey guys! Might want to get in here. Got something down in the cellar. If it wants to get out I'm really hoping it's not as strong as me. That's not saying much!"

Pretty certain Keet has been through this door before.
He would remember:
It's sticky but no lock.
There are deep scratch marks floor to waist on the cellar side.
The sound is metallic and rhythmic. A ratcheting clunking!

If Narrhil hears Kéet's shouting, he will stomp down the belltower (hopefully with Votin). Get Tillak and the three can rush around the church to the main door (a long the south side).
"Hold the fort Master Kéets, we are on our way!" He calls out while they were in the graveyard.

[Ah. I was thinking it might be the sound of a crossbow being drawn]

Narrhil turned to his two comrades, "is the portal opening?"
"We best move quick," urges Narrhil, "we on our way," he gave as a final reassurance to Kéet as he moved to the gate of the graveyard.

"I don't know. Maybe. It sounds like a lot going on down there." Kéet keeps pressing against the door nervously.
