"Do we need to know more about this portal, good friends?" asked the Cryomancer of his comrades.

"Anything we learn would be a boon!"

Keèt nods, then attempts to walk back towards the rest of the group.
There's nothing stopping Keet from rejoining them.
They ruffle his hair and squeeze his shoulders.

"Tetranna...what can you tell us about the portal?"

The portal was once an open rift in the rock of these hills discovered by the ancient clerics of Helios to extend backward and forward in time to two incredible events the followers would rather forget and we will not mention here, suffice to say they set about constructing mechanical locks to cover both ends of the rift, each piece acting a clockwork itself opening only at predetermined intervals, or with the guardian priest's hidden key. The church was built and the woods grew round which I roamed to protect and to which now am banished.

Speaking to the others, "or with the guardian priest's hidden key...what does that mean?"

I hear the words you say to your friends barbarian. The priest of this church guards this portal. He has a key to it should either side need to be opened before it be scheduled. He keeps it hidden from all. Even I know not where he kept it. I fear Auziwandilaz has it, for there has been recent travel through the portal. Or maybe your mage already knwos its whereabouts I recognize the priests ring in his clutch buried under his weapons.

"I know naught," says Narrhil, "his remains held no key, at least none which was apparent!"
Offline
"Perhaps a key that is not a key or maybe something else? Should we go back and search again?"

Keet looks at the spot the ring sank “It’s probably that ring”

"We did search the priest's body and there was no key. Perhaps he hid it under a flagstone within the domed chamber. It not going any place, I think we keep going to the bell tower, and then we can return to try and find the key!"
"At least you are not cursed, whatever that ring was, Master Kéet," half smiles the cryomancer that the Pict's joke.

"I agree...we need to gather enough wood to smoke the meat...do we need any more information or can we bid farewell to the witch now...assuming we can comeback later?"

Narrhil nods then thinks.
"Lady Tetranna, where is this portal. With the darkness we could pass it by a hundred times and never find it!" He asks.

As I said, the church is upon the portal, its openings are two.

"Did you now, I beg to differ, but it matters naught. I have the answer to my question!"
He turns to his fellows, "the portal is under the church, I have not witnessed any structure, have you?"
He turns back to the witch, "what do you mean, its openings are two?"

"I Ihave been in it...let us continue to the bell tower while I explain..."

"Yes please. Let's get out of here and look. That experience freaked me out a bit. I'm ready to do something proactive for a change."

"Aye, let us leave this place."

"You have been in this portal Sir Votin?" ask Narrhil. The cryomancer prepares to move back to the temple and the bell tower.

Are your ears filled with wax, mage? I will repeat myself for you:
