Votin manages to grab hold of the cart with his free hand and hang onto the torch! The cart speeds down the incline, wobbling wildly! The torch's flame struggles in the rush of wind and finally sputters out blanketing Votin in pitch black!
The booming echo of the cart wheels explodes in his ears.

Votin drops the torch in the cart and grabs the lever with both hands applying pressure slowly and evenly trying not to rock the cart.
Offline
Sparks fly as Votin squeezes the lever against the cart wheel!

Votin struggles as the cart continues to careen through the dark. His sinews strain until the lever snaps in two. He grabs the sides as the inclines finally levels out and the cart rolls to a stop.
Far ahead there is a pinpoint of light.
Offline
Votin is torn between lighting another torch and sneaking up to the light but he decides to light the torch and make his way towards the source of the other light.

Votin gets out of the cart. He lights what's left of the torch and grabbing his battle axe, makes his way down the tunnel. After 500 yards he can make out 2 familiar figures standing in the cavern ahead: Tillak the warlock and the beastman more man then beast.
Offline
The beastman more man than beast senses movement behind him and nudges Tillak away from the strange markings he has shown him on the round mechanism.
Votin approaches down the tunnel.
Offline
"It seems the spirits have a strange sense of humor ... either that or it is not yet time to join them." as Votin approaches the two.

The beastman steps forward. "Finally you awake. Come help your friend. He cannot open door."
Offline
Votin approaches the door,"I will try to help, we have no such need of these things where I come from."

The beastman waves you forward into the chamber where Tillak stands lost in thought before a large metal cylindrical disc shape taking up most of the space.
At 6 foot intervals the side of the disc is marked with strange shapes and markings.
"Her take them through," croaks the beastman somberly. "Where she is."
Offline
Votin inspects the 'door'...running his hands around the disk. "What are these symbols?
Offline
The beastman shrugs, "I beast."
Offline
Votin looks over at Tillak still lost in deep thoughts..."Have you any ideas?"
Offline
The beastman shrugs, "He quiet for long time."
Offline
Votin tries to either press or pull the symbols to see if they move and/or look for depressions or a secret handle.
Offline
Votin gives up on Tillak who stands there engrossed in thought.
Votin steps closer to the disc and at that moment his torch fails. But in the indirect flicker from Tillak's he sees within the writing a small recess, with an obvious single handhold bar horizontally configured.

Lighting a new torch, Votin grabs the handle and pulls firmly but slowly, ready to jump away at the first sign of trouble.
