Hey. I'm Matteus. I have always loved Robert E. Howard's Conan stories. My love for Sword and Sorcery fiction eventually led me to D&D. I was introduced to the game during the 4e period with Pathfinder 1e. I played a lot of 5e until I found out about B/X and OSE (which I think are far superior). I had also developed an interest in the Greyhawk setting because it was the most "Sword and Sorcery" of the standard TSR settings.
When I heard about Hyperborea, I thought it might be something I'd enjoy based on my fondness for Howard Sword and Sorcery fiction. I'm glad I did check it out. What I love about this setting, (beyond it's pulpy goodness), is that it is just detailed enough. There is lots of room to expand, explore, develop, and "make it your own". There isn't a "expanded universe" of lore you might run afoul of. There are whole sections of the map which are yours to do with as you will. That's awesome.
I wish I'd heard about it during the kickstarter! But, at least I've put in the order for the 3e bundle. In the meantime, the PDFs will do! Great to be here.

Hello! Gort is the name of a DCC gong farmer character I played once. He got unceremoniously struck down by a cleaver-wielding hairy half-man.
I'm new to Hyperborea and am really looking forward to playing it!

Well met denizens of Hyperborea.
New to this game: just ordered the physical 3E books. Been playing D&D, though, since the late '70's (my AD&D 1E PHB is missing the yellow stripe) and have several other systems on the shelf: PF 1E & 2E; WFRP4E and Warlock; OSE and LotFP; DCC.
Can't wait to dig in to the system and milieu.

Hello Everyone! I am Rex, started playing Hyperborea with 2e in a pbp game on the unseenservant.us. It has since transitioned to 3e and is still going. Backed 3e and started playing with my in person group. I have been lurking here for a while but joined to post on the reference sheets thread, but will probably post on occasion now that I have an account.
