Kondor stays in the boat, waiting until the ride is over.

His expression? Unmoved. He is a Kimmerian of the wilds, born on the battlefield, life lived on the edge.

ooc: Aw yeah.

Is this a response to your private message?

(reads private message)  Yeah, that's about right.  There's been lots of noise, so he's not expecting the others to be able to hear him.

Can Kondor see any better?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Both Kondor and Gundrabu slowly fade back in. The world is topsy turvy. Lush and green the sun warm on your skin. The two warriors  stare at each other face to face separated by only a foot or two, behind the landscape is sideways and it dawns on each that they are naked and tied to large spits.
Voices murmur nearby and behind.
"Why won't they light it?"
"They are still damp you fool, from your carelessness."
"They were only in the water for a moment."
"Fortunate for you there is still time before the arrival."

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Tillak's canoe rushes toward the light, which goes larger and larger. It is a way to the outside. The light is bright but Tillak can make out shapes beyond. Green-leaved trees shimmy from a breeze!

Then Tillak feels the crack on the back of head and everything fades to black...

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Gundrabu surreptitiously glances around, to gauge the situation, while even more surreptitiously testing the strength of the bindings on his wrists.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Gundrabu can see about 30 dressed beastmen behind Kondor's spit.
Below the spits is a huge pile of kindling. There is a smell of smoke wafting from behind Gundrabu.
Tillak is nowhere to be seen.

The binds are vise grips, his fingers and toes have turned blue from lack of circulation.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Gundrabu notes carefully Kondor’s location and gets a general layout of where stand the thirty beastmen. Then he quietly speaks a prayer to Khalk-xu.

“My lord, I know it is not your will that your servant should perish here today, to become meat in the bellies of these savages. So bring the Darkness of your Depths upon me. Hide your servant from these feasters, but guide me yet to my ally, though he accepts not your doctrine.”

Gundrabu casts Darkness on himself.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

d6: 2!  Plus whatever bonuses for being a barbarian.

Kondor looks around and tries to get his bearings on the area. He looks at the ropes on Gundrabu, for how his might be tied.

Quite the contrary, Tillak's eyes flutter open and as he takes in the scene, realizes at last he is staring at the back of Gundrabu's head. The warlock is tied to a third spit.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Can Kondor still see the ropes?

While the Beastmen are screaming, Kondor is going to test against the ropes - to breaking them with his mighty strength.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Yes Kondor sees everything, especially the screaming beastmen behind Gundrabu running forward with the lighted torch!
