I move out of the way so Emril can blast it open

Way too tight in the stairwell for him to squeeze by, you two will need to go back to the bottom to switch places.

I move out of the way (which understandably would require us to back up) and let Emril blow the door down.

That's good, because he might have blown your head off with that reach around.

You mean blow your MIND!!! Plus it’s just considerate.

Emral frowns. “Do you think the door was rigged to close? If so we are not going through this way without force.”
Ooc: was there another passage in here? We came down the stairs, the racks are straight ahead, then to the right was there a second narrow passage?

Malak was confident there was no other way out. He searched every wall.

Emral braces himself between the wall and door and plants his legs on the wall. Then with a great long shove uses his raw muscular power to push through whatever is trying to keep the door closed on him.
Offline
Emral strains with all his might, but the door will not open, and he recalls too, as Malak did mere moments ago, that the door swung inward.

Sure but can Emral not just break the door down with his mighty muscles? Like shatter the hinges and wood?

Unfortunately, Emral's strength taps out at 15. Something is holding the closed.

Emral grabs two of the daggers from the skeletons and goes back to the door. He puts one in the edge at a 45 degree angle and hammers it in with the hilt of the second. When the tip is in, he tries pulling the door open.
“Malak, do you have thieves tools? Maybe a pry bar? Also do you think the children died down here and then animated? Or they reanimated first and then came down here? If not, who gave them the daggers? And when did that acolyte get himself into the domed room, before or after they were reanimated?”

Malak goes back down into the cellar to wait and stay out of the small stairway while Emral does this work.
There is a sudden loud pop and a crash of broken glass in the back room while Emral is fussing over the daggers in the door.

"(sigh)," The warlock had just found a point to drive the tip of the dagger in, one of the gauges providing just the right angle to dig in the dagger, when the pop and crash called his attention.
The daggers were left on the first step down, promethean was drawn from his scabbard, and Emral slid himself out of the opening to stand by Malak, ready to meet the new horror.

Lantern in hand, Emral stands with Malak. A second loud pop and another crash of glass from the back row.
