Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

2d4 on me?  Like, I take damage?  I thought I was far enough back.  Do the bottles and racks not absorb the heat before it gets to me?  Y'know, like how a lake effect means the water absorbs the sunlight - making it warmer near lake ontario during the winter but cooler during the summer.  If the glass shatters in the far rack, fluid would pour out, then be evaporated by the mini-sun of the spell. That evaporation would absorb the heat as much as a wall, for example.  If not, fine... fine...  (cries bitter tears onto useless map of ruins)

d20 to save: 18 (minus whatever bc stupid scroll)
2d4: 3+4 = 7

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The sphere is contained to the last row and the rack. Emral and Malak are safe. The half skeletons however are not.
The first is disintegrated already.

I just need 2d4 for each of the last 5.

Each will get a save, and if successful, the spell is negated.

Malak sees melting bottles, not exploding.

All half Skeletons miss their saving throws and burn to death inside the swirling sphere of fire! which rolls into the back corner.

[There are 96 XP available for that inferno. Let me know if you divvy it.]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

okay, it will take Malak an hour to search the rest of the room for secret doors. Where do you want to start?

Emral: What do you do while you wait on the thief?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

you searched on the left (east) wall, before the last row, where the half-skeletons were huddled.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Ending the spell and then searching the area where the skeletons were.  What is in the right hand corner?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The floor of the last row is mounded with broken glass, the last rack has the fewest bottles - and the remnants of the half-skeletons and their weapons.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Is there a door or other opening?  Were the skeletons just hanging out down here?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

When you first looked, the skeletons seemed to be huddled together on top of each other in the far corner.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Malak, you will need to wait until Emral comes out of the corner to check that area, there's not enough room for you both in that space.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral will stand aside and otherwise support Malak's work.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Malak crunches over the broken glass and searches the area.
4!
Near the floor on the southern wall, he discovers a very loose stone in the wall.
