Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

As the fading light disappears, the overcast sky releases flurries of snow that plunge through the burnt out ceiling, falling onto Malak and his carcass (nearly carved), Emral and his melted harp (now half-covered in a thin sheen of frozen pool water), and the room in general...temperature plummeting...no fire lit...no food cooking...

Proved, as a strange blue haze crackles at the edge of the northern sky.

So the GM knows if it’s you or Malak, and we avoid confusion.

"I've been using quotations for character dialogue."
"with Italics for strange voices."
[and brackets for DM (when I remember)]

Ahh. Warmth. Now all we need to do is cook this meat!

“I... eww. I’m going to try using the fluffy side. Maybe we should wash off the goo in the pool?”

Did Olo have a cloak or a towel?

[Olo's heavy cloak is no more. you may recall: "The carcass is man-sized. And turning it over reveals the horribly burned face of poor Olo, most all of his skin burned away, his clothing seared to his charred flesh."]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral goes to the cauldron/fireplace, takes some ashes, and puts the soot all over the bloody side of the skins. The intent is to absorb the mess. He tears off a bit of his cloak's hem and wipes the bloody ashes away into the pool.
When it's as clean as he can get it, he takes the fur and brings it and their things over to the fireplace area.

"Good work, Malak. We just might survive tonight!  Let's see if we can light the lantern, so I can study my sigils, and we'll be ready for tomorrow."

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Darkness envelopes the church. The night will be long.
The lamp burns against the frozen air, flicking over the magic words in Emral's book.
Wind gusts whip through the broken out front doors of the chapel and through the burned out doorway to find you both huddling under your wolfskin, glad to be out of the snow in the chapel, though stray flurries do rain in the high broken out windows above.
The table is burned to ashes.
The empty pot hangs in the fireless fireplace.
The closed wooden door in the north corner remains closed.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral finishes what preparations he needs for his spells and tries to rest.  Then, when his time comes, he takes the next watch.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral writes the magic onto his mind, but sleep evades him. The day is yet young although darkness has fallen. Darkness reigns in Nightfall. Sleep could be 8 to 10 hours off still.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

ooc:  Any help with healing? Even if sleep is impossible, his hp is very low right now.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The battle with the wolves has taken its toll, Emral is slowly on the mend under the pelt, but cold, dry, iron rations only go so far...but the bleeding is beginning to clot finally.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Would Malak be ok to investigate the tower, scouting with Emral backing him up? We might find something to burn, for heat. I don’t want to do combat with no healer, but we’re in a bind.
