Re: The Character Sheet of Wondrous Automation

Maezar hasn't been around in a while, so I'm not sure whether he's still supporting this. I have spent a couple of weekends recently setting up pregens for GaryCon on this sheet. I should go through and add my one-line spell descriptions to a library here for others' use.

Several classes should have "Axe, Hand" as a Favoured weapon that currently don't.

That would be great!  I started down that path but didn't get very far.

Re: The Character Sheet of Wondrous Automation

My buddy Eric has created his own LibreOffice version for our ASSH campaign. I'll see if he wants to share that here.

Re: The Character Sheet of Wondrous Automation

Maezar, please come back to us and add the new classes to the Character Sheet of Wondrous Automation! Ideally, do this several weeks in the past so that I can already have made my pregens for GaryCon!

Spoke with him a few weeks ago. He is doing well, but is pretty busy with his hectic work schedule and travel. After speaking with him, I began combing through the sheets, and I do think it is worth it to see the project completed, because it is a great utility, but the addition of the new classes is not enough, though. There are other adjustments I would like to see to bring it up to 2e standards. But man, what a resource.

If you comb through this thread, I've noted a few bugs and also tried to add to the spell library since that was one part Maezar wasn't able to finish.

So is anybody working on this, I am willing to help out on getting this where we would like. I am fairly decent with Excel.

I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of the spell section, because there are too many spells that can't be boiled down to one line, several (IMO) being cases in which the shorthand notes of one person may not be ideal for another. For this reason, I feel these should be blank fields, form-fillabe for the individual user, if they even want the notes. Some might just want to enter the page # of the spell for look-ups.

I feel you . . . but I find the time saving of having a boiled-down line really useful, esp. for making pregens. I guess my preference would be a default description that you can overwrite if you'd rather.

If not a "copyright" issue, would Spell Name and micro description with a page number of the 2E book be allowed? Else maybe a micro description and a full list on an alternate "spell Book" page?

It starts to head into tricky territory here, because Maezar has given me his blessing to take it over and expand on it as I see fit, because due to the nature of his work schedule and travel, he can't work on it any time soon. So, if it becomes "official AS&SH" and not a "fan publication" on a remote site, I become legally responsible for the contents of the sheet. If those contents include terminology that is derived from the SRD, then we might have to include an OGL statement with the sheet. I've never seen the likes with a character sheet, but I've never a seen a character sheet that auto-generates so much content before.

Re: The Character Sheet of Wondrous Automation

The OGL would obviously go into its separate sheet within the spreadsheet file. I see no issue with that (except maybe the surprise factor in that).

I like the sheet but I use LibreOffice. The Excel one looks a lot prettier, any way to just get a blank PDF of it to roll my own?

Re: The Character Sheet of Wondrous Automation

First off, my apologies for "necro-ing" this thread.

@Ghul ... I was wondering if anything further has happened on the continuation/development of this incredibly useful tool? It seems like a few years ago you'd taken the reigns from @Maezar and seemed to have plans to update the sheet to 2nd Edition specifications, then ... nothing further. Obviously this wouldn't/shouldn't necessarily be high on your priority list in the grand scheme of things, and that's okay, but I'm just curious if this is still a probability, or DOA?

Thanks!
