Fellows,
As we prepare to create the official AS&SH Referee's Screen, I am curious to know which tables you feel are the most essential. Below you will find a list of all the tables that were included in the recent AS&SH Ready Reference Sheets. If you would be so kind, please express your favorites! It's quite fine if you say, "Include whichever tables you like, Jeff, but these five are absolutely essential!" Or you may have 12 or 15 favorites. Whatever you choose to express is helpful. Thank you! (And please, let's keep this thread on topic, if you don't mind. Feel free to start a new thread if you have some off-topic or tangential thoughts.)

How many panels are we talking about? Will the players' side have info too? Maybe 1-6, exchange rates, armors/shields and weapons and the calendars and such on the players' side.
All combat tables, resolutions, modifiers, undead tables, and the like on the Referee's side.

But whatever you decide, visual ease should outweigh inclusion.

I don't want you guys to worry about that, because I haven't completely decided yet.

Not likely, but it's worth thinking about. Leaning towards just art on the players' side.
All combat tables, resolutions, modifiers, undead tables, and the like on the Referee's side.
So I'll consider these your primary choices then, correct?

It is so great to see developer involvement with the community during the design phase!
I'm thinking of all the things i'm looking up constantly as I design and run... Basically, everything on pages 4-13 of the Ready Reference Sheets would be ideal, plus the Two Weapon fighting rules and the XP tables. The Attribute modifiers are more important for just players, and should be recorded on their sheets. The Refs guys don't really have Attributes like the players' guys have, so I feel those can safely be omitted for space.
I'm looking up the two-weapon fighting stuff a lot, even though that should be for them to keep track of. The XP tables I'm looking up constantly, those are crucial.

Yes, if one entire side is just pictures, then, I guess leave all the flavor in the manuals and keep the screen bare bones. just the most oft used charts - combat matrix/ modifiers plus saving throws only.
My top 3 are Combat Matrix, Turn Undead, and Item Saves.

Yeah, that looks like a good selection.

I would like to see at least the Missile weapon ranges on the screen
I find it very useful to have the Thief Skill Chart and Assassination Chart
I want everything in large font because I'm getting too old to find everything.....
My players particularly like the Symbols of the Gods on the front of the screen I use.
Thanks!

Here's my list, which closely echoes what others have said before me:

Mabon makes a great point in that it really should include both Thief Skill (Table 11) and Assassination (Table 33).
Two additional thoughts:
- Maybe for tables 1-6, you just include the information for attributes 13+ to save space?
- In addition to the official Northwinds Ref's Screen, would it be possible to also have a PDF version created for use with the World's Greatest DM Screen?

In general, I agree with the lists from the last couple posts.
I definitely don't think that tables used mainly in character creation (abilities, etc.) or adventure creation (treasure tables, etc.) are needed on a referee's screen.

I am indifferent as to the screen contents on the inside. However, I'd strongly recommend a pocket on the outside to hold spare character sheets. I'd suggest it be a large capacity pocket.

Oh, there's no doubt that there are a lot of rash and foolhardy players out there who almost always get their just deserts. ;)
