Annihilation (film)
This was a decent flick that reminded me of Lovecraft's The Colour Out of Space. I've wanted to write a Hyperborean adventure inspired by this story for a while now. The adventure practically writes itself; murder hobos encounter madness, corruption, and death in their search for a valuable meteor deep within the bone-chilling swamps of the Lug Wasteland.

Did you read the book, or are you going into the movie with a blank slate? I read the trilogy and heard the author read and speak on it as the first one came out. I think it was optioned for movies even then -- Hollywood loves an iterable property!
Will probably wait for video. But I am notoriously cheap.

Blank slate, but having said that, in general, I don’t necessarily mind differences as long as the movie’s still good. What I see too often is Hollywood changes things and those changes contribute to the film sucking.

These days I usually wait because I can’t tolerate bad movie manners, with people talking in normal voice, playing on phones, etc.

These days I usually wait because I can’t tolerate bad movie manners, with people talking in normal voice, playing on phones, etc.
I just don't like to pay that much just to watch half an hour of commercials for things I will never want followed by a two-hour commercial for the continued relevance of the American movie industry, which is also basically now a thing I will never want. And at home I can complain louder!
