He talks a little bit about the road that goes to Mott's Bailey

Verg gets a tattoo of a horse with a ranger on it with
a bear hugging the ranger covering his right pectoral region.

Verica gets K+V4EVA on her left arm, the deltoid

Verica's tattoo is done relatively quickly and Verg's takes
the rest of the day

One lumberjack kind of flirts with Verica.

The lumberjacks that are on watch through the
night drink with the party members on watch.

Pleasantries are exchanged and the groups
head off in opposite directions

As the party gets ready to set up camp they
are surprised by a large group of armed people.

They ask the party what are they up to.

"We hear things are interesting at the end of Forest Road"

The group of 15 heads off into the night.

The rest of the Journey to Motts' Bailey is uneventful.

As they walk to the place they notice that there are many orchards
along and around the road.

The guards are dubious about them

"Don't f*** with people so we don't have to f*** with you" the guards command.

Pondering for a bit the guards continue, "On second thought, maybe start something so we can come finish it"

"Is there a place to eat, drink, and a bed?", asks Verg.

"Yeah"

The party goes in search of an inn and finds one.

As they enter everyone turns to look at them.

Server comes up and asks, "The f*** you want?"

Torcan asks, "What do you recommend?"

She rolls her eyes, "Food, cider, apple jack"

"Food for us, a round of cider for the house, and a bottle of apple jack for us."

They found out that Clarence is the local guild rep over at The Bad Apple.

The waitress harasses them a bit before the party calls it a night.

The go to the Bad Apple to find Clarence,

They get there and it's just the bartender setting things up.

"We're looking for the Adventurers Guild rep and would like a drink"

"You mean Clarence? He won't be here until noon probably. Up late
drinking again."

He grumbles about damn outsiders wanting to drink so damn early

The bartender sits at the end of the bar whittling a wooden chain.

A couple of adventurer looking types walk in. Torcan nods at them
and they nod back.

Shortly before noon a group of sailors come in, take a table, and
start drinking.

Just after noon Clarence shows up.

Verg and Torcan walk over to his table.


"Hold on, let me drink my red eye first."

The bartender brings him a cup full of something. Clarence drinks it and belches.

"This guild stuff?"

"Yes"

He runs his hands over his face, rubbing his eyes, and runs his hands through his hair.

"Ok, now I'm ready"

"We're just checking in, wondering if there are any odd jobs or such available."

"Well, no paid gigs at the moment. However, knowing how you adventurer types like
to run into fires and such, there has been some stuff happening up along the coast."

"There has been talk of the folks, that for some reason choose to homestead out there
nowhere near other people, have gone missing. Even some hunters that go out to sell
meat her and other places around town have gone missing."

"The Duke, A number 1, duke of Motts Bailey, sent a small group out to check on these
rumors. They came back saying they found some bodies. The top of their skulls cut off
and their brains missing"

"That's fucked up, ever for this place. So that's about all I got.

You want your drink now or anything?", Clarence says as he waves his now empty tankard
where the bartender can see it.

"No, we're good", says Verg and the group heads back to the inn for another night.

(forgot to mention in session, added here) "I'm not one for omens, but about a month
before this started a shooting star streaked across the sky. It was going roughly
along the coast line. No one around here saw it land"

They walk about the hamlet so Torcan can get some replacement arrows. He is able to find
a fletcher.

During the walk he stops at a well for a drink. While doing so he checks out the gate area
of the motte, making note of the 6 guards standing there.

They eventually go back to the inn, find a table, and wait for someone to take their order.

The patrons don't look at them as much as they did the night before.

The server comes up, "Round for the house?" she asks.

"No, just a round for the table and some food", replies Torcan.

"Sorry folks, no round for the house?", she says as the rest of the
room looks at the party.

"A one time deal I guess", she says to herself as she wanders off to get the
food and drink.

The party decides they will spend the night and head up along the coast to see if they
can find what might be allegedly taking brains.

Torcan ponders to the group about who might want brains while looking at Arsalion.

"Who wouldn't want a brain?" retorts Arsalion.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind having one or two. It's kind of difficult though since we travel
a lot. Makes it hard to keep them. Them being so soft and squishy"

Arsalion's voice trails off as he gets a far off look in his eyes. He giggles a bit as
he gets lost in his thoughts.

The rest of the night goes by peacefully.

Small addendum for Clarence's story. There was a shooting star that passed
over about a month before the brain missing stories started.

Party heads out to homesteaders' location


Just past morning the group is inundated with a cloudburst.
Over the next 3 hours about 4 inches of rain fall.

During the night 10 bandits swarm the party.

Verg, Conan, and Torcan get quickly grappled.

Verg and Conan were able to break free.

Verg then slings ice darts from the ground and kills 2.

The party makes quick work of them.

60ep is found in their pockets

Just at the start of the day they stumble on small encampment of about 50 people.

Two groups of ten come towards the group.

Dude from the left hand group says "Give us all your stuff and we'll let go
go with your lives"

The party doesn't oblige

Verg blows the horn of valhalla and 10 berzerkers show up

Eventually the morale of the bandits break and run off. The called berzerkers
give them chase.

Searching the encampement 5 chests are found.

Chest 3, torcan misses the trap and gets a poisoned pin for his inattention.

3000 sp, 9500 gp, 50 pp, and 18 gems are found.
