The list of weapons suited for mounted combat on page 270 of the Player’s book doesn’t list broad/long sword. I was just curious as to the reasoning for this. Not looking to argue, just curious. I understand that the roman long sword, the spatha, was specifically used by cavalry because of its longer reach than the gladius. Also curious as to the inclusion of the short scimitar, unless that would be considered the equivalent of a saber.

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy the spelling and grammar I encounter when I read the rules. Little things like the fact that the term “party” is used in the plural instead of my inclination to use it in the singular... or that surprise is spelled surprize.
It evokes the same feeling I had when I was reading the 1e books and encountering Gygaxian prose for the first time... stretching my vocabulary beyond its previous bounds.
Great voice...

Rules Discussion » XP for Magic Items (was "The Town of Swampgate question") » 7/24/2019 6:49 pm |
I equate the experience with the fame/glory of retrieving the treasure. So, it’s split amongst party members just like treasure, unless the character won it single handedly... stealing the glory so to speak. Since the magic item itself is a reward, I don’t feel it necessary to otherwise reward a character for its possession.
