Looking forward to the new edition and pledged on the kickstarter (all-in print)

Two questions:
Any changes to the deities and religion?  Maybe a Deity of Good?

Regarding the combat changes - will there be examples of combat in the books?  I've always found these to be helpful in illustrating the combat mechanics with more clarity.

Thanks.

Enjoying the Campaign write-up and wanted to drop a line of encouragement to show appreciation for the time you take to pass it along to us.

I'm curious as to what spell your Shaman player chose and which paths of study i.e. (Cleric or Druid)/(Magician or Necromancer).

Looking forward to the adventure unfold.

Alternity is not really being resurrected - http://www.sasquatchgamestudio.com/products/alternity/

From that link:
Is this a second edition? A reboot? A remake?
None of those things — the 2017 Alternity is its own game, through and through. We draw inspiration and a sense of heritage from the original Alternity, but this is wholly our creation… and yours, as soon as you start playing.

Also, I voted for AS&SH 2E

Carter admitted his work was derivative - pretty much pastiche of other authors/series.  Of course, he wasn't shy about promoting himself either.

I just recently finished reading The Green Star series of books and enjoyed them for what they were.  The wikipedia (shrug) article on Lin Carter notes the Green Star novels as (uniting influences from Clark Ashton Smith and Edgar Rice Burroughs).
Just additional fodder source to pull in to RPG adventures.

I am only missing the last book in the Thongor series and then I'll run through those (I'm pretty much getting all his books in addition to the authors/works he is deriving from).

This was a recent Showtime series.  I just finished it up on Netflix.  It's a mash-up of different weird/horror fantasy characters woven together in to a common story arc.  Vampires, witches, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray to name just a few pieces without spoiling anything.  Yes, League of Extraordinary Gentleman pulled a lot of these things together but I would say this is better.

It isn't perfect, it is weird.  My wife dislikes scary stuff but even she got invested in to the story/characters.  There were parts where things got so weird she looked at me and said, "Really!?"

I wanted to do a discussion/clarification on the Monk class - Empty Hands use in Two-Weapon Fighting.
Specifically on the ruling that Empty Hands attacks are considered WC1 when doing Two-Weapon Fighting.  I would infer that to mean that if not doing Two-Weapon Fighting then it would be WC0 as an unarmed attack?  Personally, I would rule that it is WC0 across the board including in Two-Weapon Fighting.  Below is the various pieces of text from the rules regarding Empty Hand, Unarmed Combat being considered WC0, the rules for Two-Weapon Fighting which includes the note about it being treated as WC1.  Afterwards I list examples of a Monk doing Two-Weapon Fighting comparing using WC0 or WC1.  I don't feel that WC0 makes the monk overly powerful even with 18 Dexerity and that the Monk never exceeds two Empty Hands attacks per round regardless of level.
Looking for opinions, possible insight to the rules as written and any corrections if I've read something wrong (and fully aware I can rule this how I see fit in my own campaign).
Thanks all.

Empty Hand: Master of the unarmed attack (foot, knee, elbow, etc.). The monk enjoys the following benefits
when fighting sans weapons:
+1 “to hit” bonus.
Weapon-like damage (see table I.25.), plus bonus damage according to strength or accurate strike.

UNARMED COMBAT: To engage in melee without a weapon. Presented below are four basic unarmed
combat forms. Unarmed attacks are considered weapon class 0 (WC 0); hence, most armed combatants attack first if the optional first strike rule is utilized (see COMBAT, initiative), unless they wield WC 1 weapons.

Two-Weapon Fighting:A combatant with 13 or greater dexterity fights with a weapon in each hand in order to gain one extra attack per round. The player must designate a primary and off-hand weapon; neither weapon may be larger than WC 2. No “to hit” bonuses for high strength are realized (though damage bonuses, if applicable, may be), and ea

Hello,
I got started with RPG's in 1981 at age 10 with the Moldvay D&D Basic box set.  From there I was hooked on table-top RPG's through my early twenties almost exclusively being a DM/GM of various things - D&D, AD&D(up to 2nd Ed), Gamma World, Star Frontiers, Champions, Battletech/Mechwarrior, TMNT to name the most prevalent.

Real life commitments and moving to another state took me away from playing for a long while.  In the last decade I've been really wanting to get back in to play and the OSR "revival" helped a lot with things to read about on the Internet.  I even got a few sessions in with co-workers running OSRIC in the last few years but it didn't last.
In the last few years I got on a mission to read a lot of the "classics" of fantasy and science fiction.  This has led me recently to a lot of Robert E Howard, Clark Ashton Smith and H.P. Lovecraft reading.  When I saw a blog post about the AS&SH 2nd Edition kickstarter I was intrigued and bought the original edition in PDF to get a full idea of what it was about.  I liked what I read a lot, even enough to fund a copy from the kickstarter and so here I am.

Now to round up a group to really play it!!
