This is the perfect time to point out, if you look at pg 102 in 1E players handbook, that spell stacking is generally not allowed. In this case think of it like Kondor has a variety of wounds: superficial, light, serious, and critical ones.
Cure light wounds cures the light wounds. A cleric of higher power might be able to cure the serious ones, etc.
This makes more sense to me than thinking that putting the whole box of little band-aids on, is going to fix it.

I dig it! Gritty and elegant.

“You look rested but not quite well, my friend. I must experiment. Tell me if you feel any better after this viscous touch of the Kraken.”

Gundrabu will attempt to cast Cure Light Wounds on Kondor.

Rather than colliding with Kondor’s canoe, Gundrabu brings himself up short, then raps the other canoe’s gunwale with his paddle to wake his friend.

It's stuck.

Hm. I suppose the ring exudes a magic-dampening field. I wonder if it will interfere with my own prayers to Khalk-xu. I'll have to cut off my finger. Perhaps Kondor will help me.

Gundrabu uses the short oar to try to push his canoe alongside Kondor's.

Gundrabu looks in the canoe for oars or poles with which to force/press his canoe up to Kondor’s. If there are none, he searches the water all about for a fallen stout branch or uprooted young tree that might serve the purpose. Gundrabu is loath to get out and wade through the chill water, but he will do so, if need be. After all, he still wears the Ring of Warmth.

As the cleric ebbs back to his senses, he notices the sway of the grasses to his right, a hard breeze carrying the faint scent of sea.

Gundrabu gratefully scents the sea air, but he looks for firm land.

He sits up in the canoe and looks about.

Perfect!

As Gundrabu sits, wet and meditating in the center of the canoe, it seems to him that the waters of the stream rise up all around, eventually surmounting and engulfing him.

The resulting ocean in fact is the cosmos, and Gundrabu drifts, an unbreathing consciousness in its midst. Lights appear in the darkness. They are stars, suns. Gundrabu realizes that these are luminescent suckers on the arms of the Kraken, which clutches the entire cosmos.

Gundrabu falls towards a gravity well. The suckers grasp his consciousness, impressing upon his psyche the Gifts of Khalk-xu…

Gundrabu startles awake.

Looking around, he hops out of the canoe onto the sand, then drags the canoe up onto the strand.

Then he looks around for foliage or deadfall with which to start a fire. He has the intention to warm up. Ideally he would roast a rabbit or something similar, but he knows that is unlikely. Besides, he has to meditate with the Kraken in the Seas of the Cosmos.

When he gets time for this, he would prepare these spells:

Level 1: Cure Lt. Wds x3, Purify Food/Drink
Level 2: Speak with Animals, Darkness, Hold Person
Level 3: Locate Object x2

"What is that silver band on your finger my boy?"

"I wear no band, mother."
Gundrabu looks down at his hand. Startled, he shakes it, but the flames he thought he saw enwreathing it are not there. Instead, he has thrown the blaze back into the fire beside which he kneels, where it belongs. But the warmth remains, most pronounced on his finger, flowing throughout his entire body, lulling him deeper into sleep and into another dream...

“So it is the two of us together again, eh, friend Kondor?”

Gundrabu sighs and lounges in the bows of the boat while he curiously inspects this new (?) crystal weapon. [I fear I’ve “lost the plot.” 😂 I’ll have to go back and do some digging.]

“I am exhausted, Kondor. I say we let the stream carry us where it will, give our bark to the Kraken’s tendrils. It may be that the indifferent cosmos shoals us upon some shelter, where I may sleep and drink deep again from Khalk-xu’s brackish shore. When I rise out of that foetor again into the illusion of consciousness, I may refill our salts with vigor.”

Oh, no. Gundrabu is going back to the campsite to snatch that crystal “weapon” he believes he sees.

The spits are no campsite. They are in the open on the beach where the clothed beastmen very nearly sacrificed Kondor, Gundrabu and TIllak!
The crystal weapon lies free of the clutch of one of these prospective murders. The cleric can easily scoop it up on his flight to the canoes without penalty.

Thanks for the clarification. Gundrabu most certainly scoops it up!

Which direction does the cleric make for the canoes? At the stream directly below where the stream was crossed and then haul ass east across the south beach? Or as crow flies diagonally down the this north beach past the spits?

Oh, the first one! Gundrabu heads down to the beach, then hauls ass east.

Gundrabu runs away from the giant lizard. Since the lizard is cresting a rise, I imagine that Gundrabu is running into a valley, which should be the river. If so, he makes for the canoe he paddled over earlier.

“I am exhausted. These brawlers need to find me somewhere safe and comfortable to sleep, so I can wake and mend their wounds with the cosmic Blood of the Kraken.”
