Glass-steel & a Magic Helm

Huge elder scrolls fan and I love the concept of Glass weapons and armor as seen in the games (particularly oblivion).

I'm fairly sure the idea came from the AD&D spell "Glass-Steel" which is unsurprisingly absent from Hyperborea. For my table I've reproduced the glass-steel spell, allowing the creation of ultra-lightweight +1 plate mail (classed as medium armor) and +1 weapons. does this seem too powerful for a 6th level wizard spell? the actual crafting requires the skills of a glassblower/glazer in addition to rare components (per alchemy) and the ability to cast the spell.

I've also brewed a special glass helm as a reference to the waterlogged "Fingleam" found at the bottom of the sea off the coast of Anvil inĀ  TES 4.

"We alone of all mankind, who are sorcerers of high attainment and mastery, may endure the lethal ice-change and become breathers of the airless void, and thus, in the end, be made suitable for the provender of such as Rlim Shaikorth." sounds great unless you know what Provender means.
