I'm both surprised and a bit saddened by the fact that nobody around here seems to know what I consider to be THE quintessential Sword&Sorcery Metal band: Bal-Sagoth.
This now-defunct british band released 6 albums filled to the brim with references to our favourites REH, HPL, and CAS.
The albums have titles like "A Black Moon broods over Lemuria", "Starfire burning upon the ice-veiled throne of Ultima Thule" and "The Chtonic Chronicles", the song-titles are some of the longest in current music (example: "And Lo, When The Imperium Marches Against Gul-Kothoth, Then Dark Sorceries Shall Enshroud The Citadel Of The Obsidian Crown") and the lyrics are short stories all by themselves.

Just search for Bal-Sagoth on Spotify or Youtube and listen for yourselves, you wont be disappointed!
