I like miniatures and own far more than I will ever paint because apparently I hate money. At any rate, I started this thread for my fellow Hyperboreans to discuss and share information for rounding out their weird fantasy miniature collection.
Here's what I'm looking for: Hyperboreans, Esquimaux, Deep Ones, Man Apes, Vhoormi, Crab Men, Great Race, Elder Things, and Mi-Go.
I'll usually check Reaper's Bones collection first, it's an inexpensive source for common monsters like zombies, skeletons and dungeon vermin. The quality is so-so and I dislike painting them but they are cheap and the selection is large.
Wizkids has a couple good lines of quality inexpensive miniatures, Deep Cuts and Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures. The minis are as cheap or cheaper than Reaper Bones and of higher quality. They also come pre-primed. At the time of writing the only drawback is the limited monster range relative to Reaper Bones. I hope they focus more on monsters and less on player character models in the future.
Wargames Foundry. A UK company. They're cheap, have a wide range of historical miniatures, and carry Perry brothers sculpts for those of us who like the chunky old school Citadel minis. Their Viking sculpts make for inexpensive Vikings and Berserkers (I already own a bunch). Their historical Celts, Picts, and Native American models should work for Hyperborea but I have not purchased any yet.
Otherworld Miniatures. Another UK company. Fans of the 1e DMG and Monster Manual will recognize the sculpts. They also have pig faced orcs. Otherworld is pricier than I like but the sculpts are gorgeous and they have ones I can't find elsewhere.
Hasslefree Miniatures. Also in the UK. This barbarian is one of the favorites in my collection (Kimmeri-Kelt, anyone?) and this guy looks like the quintessential Hyperborean warlock. I will warn you that like many of these small miniature outfits, delivery on my order took a while but in the end I was happy with the product.
Dark Sword Miniatures. US based outfit. This is where I shop to get my gf miniatures for her characters. They have some nice female sculpts, like this chick who resembles the archetypal Hyperborean witch-queen in my mind's eye. Despite being a small outfit my order was filled and delivered quickly.
