Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

ooc:  Can't see the image.

Emral also wants to check out the leather pile. He shines the light onto it and tries to get a closer look before they go in.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

I think the image site is down, it'll come back.

Meanwhile...

The leather looks old and worn in the flickering shadows. You cannot make sense of its shape.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

"I'll go first, in case my armor has to take the brunt of some attack." In his mind he's thinking that his partner may be suffering from the cold, and that his own current immunity to the chill seems unfair, making him want to do something active to get them somewhere safe.

ooc: If Emral can fit in there, he does.  He has his sword pointed to it, ready to take the lead so Malak can pull him back.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral enters the structure and approaches the pile of leather with caution.

It doesn't move and standing over it, Emral thinks it's a piece of clothing.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral picks it up, investigates.

And are there other features down here?  Any doors or, say, entrances into the new area?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Sheathing the sword, Emral leans down to pick up the leather.

It is a cowl.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Describe the scene. I am not sure what we are looking at as far as surroundings and where we are on the map.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

You are standing next to Emral inside the wooden belfry.
It is dark outside but in the lantern light you can se that Emral is holding a leather cowl. His eyes are bloodshot and he's sweating in this cold night air.

The belfry is 10 x 10, made of boards. See #1441.

Looking up you see the bell at the edge of the lantern's dim glow.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Just a cowl?  Is anything about it... potentially magical?  Not that we have detect magic, but can Emral as a Warlock have a sense of whether a thing he's handling is enchanted?

Often Emral can smell magic on the air and often he cannot.
Most times a Detect Magic spell is needed to know for sure.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The pebble misses the bell. It's too high.
