Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Tillak awakes from his swoon, looking around him. "Brother Narhill, what has happened? Where is the thief? I feel under spell, and I do not remember what has transpired."

  • “Moonglum licked his long lips. 'So it’s sorcery again. In truth, Elric, this whole country is beginning to stink of wizardry and the minions of hell.' Elric murmured for his friend’s ears: 'No hell-beings these—but honest elementals, equally powerful in many ways.'"

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

"By the Great Yikkorth, Tillak," exclaimed Narrhil, "I thought were at death's door for sure!"

"Thief, I saw no thief," the cryomancer, who was still in shock. This did not stop him looking around him for some invisible spell-thief. "No..," he pondered out loud at not finding a hidden spy. Perhaps Tillak in his coma had witnessed something he could not see. "We still have a problem, we have marauders infiltrating the temple!"

[Welcome back Sully, this is an unexpected pleasure. ]

As Turok catches up to the pair..."Where to now?"

The mutes pause again at the main entrance pondering the tracks north and west, looking off in both directions for some sign of the scouts.

The great worm shifts with a grunt as well, is that a slight smile across its fanged maw as well?

"The other adventurer...nevermind. Perhaps it really was a fever dream. All that matters now is that we exit this temple, preferably with our prize in hand. Ythaqqa'a Blood, this is a cursed place. How many mauraduders are there, Brother Narhill? I am still weak on my feet, so you will have to lead on." Tillka readies his pick and shield.

[It's great to be back, dude. I have a feeling that we may be coming to the end of this campaign and I would love to see the finish line.]

Weak indeed, for when Tillak tries to sit upright, he feels his hp down to 2 and his memorizations of shove and shatter forgotten.
The pick and pack remain skidded to the other side of the dome room from his Awakening.

In the Dome Chamber the great worm sighs and almost ceases to be, at long last content for the moment...

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Meanwhile outside the broken double doors of the church, the mutes and Turok are drawn to the western sky   as the blustering snow clouds part and this endless Nightfall of blackness is pierced by the hidden magnificence of Selene her nearly forgotten beam of beauty bathing the white landscape as a pillowy sponge beneath her.

As much as they wish to look away at their surroundings to know where they stand- they cannot -for so long have they been tiny beasts in the enveloping dark, scrounging under candlelight like rats, and to now be awash in her glow, however fleeting, they know they must worship the moment....
