Narrhil turned to his two comrades, "is the portal opening?"
"We best move quick," urges Narrhil, "we on our way," he gave as a final reassurance to Kéet as he moved to the gate of the graveyard.
"Come, brothers!" Tillak says while looking around for Votin.

Moving as fast as they can; so Kéet is not devoured by some mechanical beast...

[Ah. I was thinking it might be the sound of a crossbow being drawn]
Much deeper and further away now that you are listening more closely.

Votin looks again across the courtyard and through the windows.
"I can see The Thief. He is unharmed and alone."

"Are you not coming Sir Votin?" calls the cryomancer. "It best that we not separate the group!"

[VOTIN begrudgingly follows. Muttering "What is that thief getting us into now?" as he falls back into tagalong NPC mode.]

The three move to the main doors of the church...

If Narrhil hears Kéet's shouting, he will stomp down the belltower (hopefully with Votin). Get Tillak and the three can rush around the church to the main door (a long the south side).
[South side]

The three head into the pitch black of the cemetery. Again the soft crunch of snow under their feet as they leave the courtyard and strike out blind into the darkness beyond, arms outstretched and flailing, lest they find a headstone marker at their shins, or worse...
Now unprotected by the walls, the bitter wind again bites at their furs. Narrhil's poor frozen fingers most likely soon unable to perform the delicate dance of arcane cast.
Even the esquimeaux grows weary of this frigid perpetual night and though he hears his companion walking briskly in front of him, his reaching out absently trying to find Narrhil, (perhaps to grab a handhold of the furs to lead him through the darkness )--proves fruitless.
Votin mutters underbreath back there somewhere in the dark, "We could have just dropped down through the burned out roof into the chapel...these magicians like to do things the long way...and under the most danger..."
But the howling wind obscures most of these complaints from the others ears.

[if you didn't it's out by now, did you want to stop and light a new one before running out, would make sense, although the thief may perish during the pause...]
[I know you can make an Icicle every day, and I think you have one or 2 other cold tricks up your sleeve.]
[they are ungloved, and it's freezing out here. warm ring is broken.]

[Travelling around church, talking to witch, exploring belltower was an hour? Tillak had torch.
So, he not protected by the cyan dyed freezing touch effect that on his hands, even though he freezes things he touches, it not protect him. Has it ended? Well we need to see, yes we would light a torch, which allows us to move faster than a slow crawl].

[Way way back on #7280 there were 3 unburned and 1 half burned torch left. Tillak took one so the 3 could tr to go investigate the creaky noises heard from the belltower. I assumed the half burn. but probably now it had to be one of the unburned. --after this there was 20 mins of spell study while, the other three went out into the chapel but came back fairly quickly , then there was a cast of new spell of Light. then more discussions. then the opening of the pews at door, then some misdirection walking, then trudging through deep snowfield north, then missed saves and magical runnings and holdings and then lost Keet into the woods, next a long magical conversation at the woodedge, then another long trudge back through thick snow field, then 3 separate investigations up and down the rickety belltower. so YES, whatever old torch should have burned out long ago.]
The cyan dye from the ice dart doesn't feel cold, nor does it protect from coldness. Narrhil isn't quite sure what to make of it. His Warm ring isnt working that's for certain.
Tillak lights a torch and the rescue continues! ]

Keet's axe is drawn, his ear to the door. The shouts of his companions have faded away so he is assuming they are en route...

a ring beneath the stain shimmerlights (this also say ring still magical).
On Keet's hand, a ring shimmerlights.
There is shimmerlight seeping from within Keet's pack.
There is shimmerlight seeping from within Tillak's pack.
There is shimmerlight seeping from within his own pack.
