Yes
The sudden return to sole flickering firelight enhances Votin's hearing: the strain of the rope and the rub of the pews on the stone floor rise over the howl of the winter wind outside.
Although he thinks his hackles raised, he can't be sure there is magic.

Narrhil moves forward to stand beside Votin, holding the ice light high and with his other hand draws his wand, “stand back, do not get too close. If it is something I can harm, let me first weaken it for you,” he says, indicating both the warriors.

Tillak shifts to Narhill's right, shield and pick at the ready.

The noise goes silent at the flash of Icicle light.

The crackle of the lectern wood in there begins to subside as well...

Tillak ruminate on Narril's suggestion. "As long as we are at a safe distance. You do not think to leave the shelter of the church to speak with...whatever is on the otherside of that door, do you?"

“Nae, we can converse through the door, but first the one with the greatest influence should shout forth and I pray it is not me, I am not one for the intricacy of the spoken language!” Says Narrhil... “If its intent is hostile, it still needs to break through the door and we can assault it from within as it struggles to get at us!”

The burned out door itself is 40 ft away from the Broken Double doors where the noises of scuffing wooden pew on stone and stretching rope were heard.
I give to Votin that "Closer" means "Damn near"
I read somewhere back there that Narrhill moves to stand beside Votin.
I give to Narhill that "Next to Votin" does not mean "in the open doorway"
which means that "Tillak shifts to Narhill's right" means that since Votin is in that position, Tillak stands behind Votin.
All characters have remained inside the kitchen from all I've read so far.
