Narrhil assist Votin in searching the room, any loose floor slabs, hidden wall compartments, and searching in the fireplace poking it with a stick.
“Master Tillak, do you wish to join us, it might not be wise to split the group?” He says stepping to the door of the room for a brief moment.
[OOC: He will trek downstairs with Votin also, if he going that way.].
Offline
Votin and Narrhil spend a Turn searching the room throughly, sharing the light when necessary.
Votin discovers that the door to the cellar area he had assumed was smashed is indeed still functional.
Narrhil finds the long table is burned and rickety but fairly stable. There are stray carvings in the hardwood, maybe from a cutting knife at the far end.
Votin detects older boot scuffs on the floor moving from the burned out door to the cellar door.
Narrhil finds rat bones in the empty pot hanging from the heavy chain in the fireplace. His light only shines 15 ft up the chimney onto the old cobwebs inside.

[Sorry, I'm.in the middle of moving.]
Tillak accompanies his companions.
Offline
'Rat bones,' he thought, 'strange, perhaps an animal was using it as a nest?' He thought to himself.
He was glad it was just normal webbing and not some Giant Frost Spider hidden in the chimney.
When ready, they trek downstairs with Tillak.
Offline
"This door to the cellar still works but how do you open it from the cellar?"
[OOC: Can we get a refresh on the contents of the cellar?]
Offline
Narrhil assist Votin in examining the door, “perhaps it was just jammed with the ice, or it was swollen with dampness, then frozen. It could not stay shut once smashed open. But noise attract enemies also. We need to find away to allow it to open freely. If we shaved a bit of the sides with my hand axe it will open more freely in future?!”
Offline
Narrhil moves his Icicle close to the cellar door. The door which swings open into this room, remains on its hinges, and moves freely now after being forced open earlier.
There are gouge marks in the wood on its cellar side. Obvious in the light - not made by metal edges...
Offline
“Did you make these marks Sir Votin?” asks Narrhil, “is there some beast down there you have yet to find?”
[OOC: how high are the marks?]
Offline
The gouges are only waist high.
Offline
"Anything that can make marks like that cannot be friendly," Tillak mutters to his companions, looking around to make sure nothing is creeping up on the party.
Offline
"There were several half skeletons that I chopped up in the other room, they may have done this or the body I found earlier...it looks like it had been here for awhile...there was a woman I was looking for, she was in charge of the beastmen that had come this way...but I never found her...very strange indeed..."
Offline
“I agree Master Tillak, there maybe more hidden within crypts, we have not yet found!” Say Narrhil. Then turning to Votin, he queries, “More half-skeleton, hmm, it is not strange that they so small, I fear to presume what they are!”
“What body Sir Votin?” asks the cryomancer, “and what kind of temptress or houri was this woman to govern the wills of beastmen?”
OOC: @Sully, my PC asked in post #5741:
What Tillak was doing here but not sure if you saw it? Hope moving was successful?

The three adventurers cease as the hair of the napes of their necks rises.
Something is moving at the twined pews/broken front doors!
Offline
“By the Great Ashen Worm, that must be the wolves that had chased me for the last two days..?!” Hisses Narrhil the Cryomancer.
He tries to hide the light behind the wall of the room, he hoped the blizzard obscure the rest...
“If it is the wolves, we should kill as many as we can. Then store their meat in the ice to keep fresh so we may consume later at our leisure!”
Offline
Tillak whirls in the direction of the noise, brandishing his pick.

[OOC: Are we in the cellar and is the cellar door closed?]
Votin motions to his companions to remain silent and moves closer to the door listening intently.
[OOC: How does this work?]
Sense Magic: Sorcery raises the hackles of animal
fear and superstition; 4-in-12 chance to cognize the
presence of magic, if the barbarian noses for it. He
might not discern the precise source straight away,
but merely that it is close at work. This ability does not
function as the detect magic spell (q.v.) and usually does
not apply to minor magical items and like dweomers.

[OOC: Sorry, thought we went down to the cellar]
Votin motions to his companions to remain silent and moves closer to the door axe in hand, (actually more like to the side)

No, the three of you are in the kitchen examing the open door to the cellar.

Tillak faces the burned out doorway through which the noise came.
Votin moves closer to the burned out door to listen.[VOTIN roll d12.]
[Is VOTIN chancing for sense magic?]
Narrhil holds his Icicle into the cellar door opening, effectively dousing all light.
