Loud, approaching shouts and footfalls sound from both sides of the corridor! The group is surrounded!!

OOC: We're in a pickle!!
ICC: Tillak snarls an his own foolishness and the situation that he and his companions are in."Ythaqqa's blood and bloody bones! Curse my eyes!!"

OOC: How heavy is the net?

The net feels thick and heavy, a corded twine, and damp. Very hard for Tillak to maneuver underneath it. And dense enough to halve the light.

Tillak attempts to cast shove on the net, to throw it off of him and his companions.
Offline
Tillak's eyes gleam with magical force as his force propels against the heaviness of the dense net. The edges propel against the near wall pulling the three entangled adventurers to the ground!

ooc: Is the net just dropped on us? Like a "net blanket", in a way? It's not anchored on us, right?
Kondor plants his feet while bending above his waist so he's less coiled in the net; then, collecting the net as best he can, pulling it up in one direction so he can slip out the side, he attempts his escape carefully. If the Warlock acts brashly, pulling the net one way, Kondor will drop down so the net goes with Tillak - leaving Kondor behind!

Kondor, shocked at this sudden imprisonment, barks as the Warlock lunges toward the wall.

d6: 1! Hah! It's been a while since I rolled low on a skill test, lol.

Kondor manages to slip out from underneath the heavy net - just as the figures reach him and his trapped comrades. They are beast men but dressed in fine trimmed velvets. Their shaggy manes combed and braided.
"Do not resist. Please remain calm and we will release you. We require your assistance. "

"If that be so, then release them," Kondor says calmly, left hand obviously on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw on them - but holding off his wrath as he sees their changed clothes and manner. He's seen strange things, and time has passed - for all he knows, an age has passed and the beast men have gone the way of the common men.

The speaking beast man nods to several of the others, who in turn lift the net, freeing the cleric and warlock.
"Forgive us, but we have waited a long time for this opportunity. We could not chance it slipping by."

Gundrabu will try to put away his gleaming dagger in some unthreatening way.
Then he looks on with interest. Kondor seems to have this negotiation well in hand, and Gundrabu is keen to learn what “assistance” he and his friends might lend these clearly cultured beastmen.

ooc: "Turdsmith" sounds like a 0-level profession in DCC rpg. They have gong farmer, but this would be the supply side version.

Tillak stares in awe at the well-groomed beast men unsure whether he is more impressed by the fact that the beast men are so well put together or puzzled that they still need to s*** in the middle of pathways in lieu of using privies. He's also ashamed of the fact that his spell backfired.
"What do you need of us, friends?"

"To undo this terrible thing that you have done. He will be pleased with you and therefore unsuspecting. For us, this horrible punishment," he motions to his pantaloons and corset vest, "can be ended at last."

"Enough of your riddles!" Kondor barks, drawing his sword and pointing it at the beast men. "Tell us what you know, NOW! You bastard Beast Men ate our friend, murdered our other comrade, and hounded us into the wilds! You've interrupted my vengeance against the darkness that killed my mentor, and dumped us into an offal pit! I should have your heads - but I'll let you live to tell me what in blazes is going on here. But be quick about it!"
The barbarian is furious, not least of all because of their using a net before attempting to speak to them. He already suspects trickery, and their attempt at discourse as a rouse because he escaped their net.
If they do not give them the full details, Kondor will slay these liveried savages, and get his own answers.

"Aye, your paths crossed with ours more than once before, Barbarian, but alas that was now 12 years ago, when your hands freed Peneleus the Terrible from his tomb hidden deep within our own hills.
"The tale is thus: For countless seasons the dark sky ship has come to reclaim its son, laid forever trapped in these lands by the sorcerers of old who understood his treachery and his danger.
"For those same centuries the beast men have quested to find this dark lord and be gone of the dark sky visitors for all, for their mercies are not tender upon the beast men..."
Here the beast men hang their heads in forlorn unison.
"We followed that evil esquimeaux witch who promised to find him, until she went mad, and confessed to seeking only his crown and disappeared into the deep snows of Nightfall. We were on our own again. Until the day 12 years nigh when the dark lord himself wandered into our very village. He was nothing of his reputation and easily placed upon the fire spike. Our offering was immediate, But the dark sky refused him.
"And once we followed you lot inside the mountain and saw you still as statues staring down upon an eternal prison, we understood our folly.
"Then he was re-known, and the whole of the world answered quickly, all manner of all race banded together, each's magic melded to force a dome over this entire land. With him inside. And us...his new..toys.
"And you. Now awakened can end him. He will be glad to see those that freed his bonds. You will be able to get very close... and use this against him..."
Here he slides a thin bronze rod with a stylized saber tooth head from his velvet's sleeve.
"And he can be given to the dark sky ship."
He cocks his head slightly, as if smelling something upon the air.

Tillak speaks.
"Friend Komdor, plesse calm yourself. These cannot be the same beastmen. They would have killed us on sight if they were."
Tillak inwardly blanches at the mention of devouring. Ytha'qqa has been known to drive those lost on the tunrda to cannibalism, but that is so that they will survive. This is another matter, wholly.
