Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The Kraken reluctantly floods your mind to erase his gifts and re-bestow. His generosity is great, hopefully his memory is short....

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Hahaha! Oh my! Alright, a (possibly) new selection on its way soon. When I get to a book, I naturally will be looking for things along the lines of Create Light, Locate Object, etc.

In the meantime, I’m still unclear on my inventory. Are all the packs gone? (I probably was using my own as a pillow.) My weapons? How about the crystal weapon? I keep my spoon of never ending gruel in my furs.

Your packs are not within your reach. And you cannot see.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Fair enough. I’m not going to investigate any further before choosing my spells, because the Kraken already has been merciful. New spells for CL 5: Light (Level 1), Purify Food and Drink (Level 1), Locate Object (Level 3)

Spells for the day:

1 - Cure Lt Wds, Cure Lt Wds, Light, Purify Food/Drink
2 - Speak with Animals, Hold Person, Darkness
3 - Locate Object, Locate Object
6 - Word of Recall

After receiving these blessings, Gundrabu searches his own person. He’s looking for his weapons, his spoon, his scroll paper, etc. Mostly, he has to determine on what to cast Light.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

[Corrections noted.]

Gundrabu spends an uneventful period of meditation and prayer in the darkness, The babble of water a welcome backdrop against disruption.

Once the words of Kraken's power are committed, he rummages through his furs.
He finds his wooden holy symbol still wrapped around his neck, but the inner lining of his furs has been shredded, his pockets are empty.

Gundrabu casts Light on his holy symbol.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The Holy Symbol blazes to life shining its briny glow across the whole of the chamber.

Kondor has rolled away 10 feet and lies asleep now in the remnants of Tetranna's filleted bones, newly picked clean of flesh.

All packs are trashed, and contents are spilled out all over the floor in disarray.
Various items are immediately located here and there but you'll need to do a one by one item inventory to account for everything. Especially disconcerting are the iron rations papers, shredded and  very  empty.

[Gundrabu recover +2d8 HP]
[Kondor recover +2 HP ,  -6 of 29]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

2d8 - 8! That brings me to max hp at 32.

So when you say check per item, do you want me to provide a tabulation and check for what remains, or do you want to put forth what we have, based on your records?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Everything is ransacked. I think we need to look around and make sure everything is still here.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

After first checking on Kondor to ensure he is alive, Gundrabu searches through the savaged detritus to determine what he can recover.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Kondor wakes at your rouse, but he's too weak to even speak from his very near death experience.

Scattered about him are:
your shield
your 4 spikes
your rations papers, empty, chewed
his rope, unravelled
his backpack, possibly torn
his pry bar
his 12 spikes
his small hammer

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

On him:
His winter furs
His chain mail

On you:
Your furs, lining torn
Wooden Holy symbol, shining

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Gundrabu gathers Kondor’s shield and uses it to carry water for Kondor and himself from the fountain. If this occurs without incident, he puts everything back into the pack, if possible, and bunches it behind Kondor’s head as a makeshift pillow. Then he searches one more time for the remaining missing items, particularly the ring of warmth and the spoon of gruel. He looks on his own person, on Kondor, and in the shadows around them.

Edit: What??? Sorry, maybe we were posting at the same time? I somehow missed that third tabulation.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

So, at the fountain, Gundrabu gathers all the salvageable items into Igrest’s pack and returns with that to Kondor. He hands Kondor the barbarian’s sword and rabbit's foot.

Kept items:
your tinderbox, spilled
his tinderbox, spilled
his hand axe
a small ring, chewed
igrest's hourglass
igrest's chalk, chewed
your spoon, chewed
the twisted metal tube, flattened on one end
your torches, 2
igrest's scrolls, trampled.
your crystal weapon
your flail
his bastard sword
his rabbit's claw, slavered
your bandages, intact
his whip
igrest's pack, empty
igrest's red gem

Gundrabu's waterskin is now "damaged." Does this mean it still can hold water?

Kondor doesn't own a shield, the cleric does, small shield.
the damaged waterskin has bite holes in it, and the water leaks out.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Understood. I have everyone’s pack contents listed on my CS. I should have read more closely. Gundrabu casts Cure Light Wds on Kondor two times: 8 + 4 = 12!

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Kondor wakes fully with zest,  now 6 of 29.
His memory of recent events is foggy and he'll need the story form the cleric(and last posts) to fully grasp the situation.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

“I’m sorry, Kondor, but I... I slept, after our encounter with undead Tetranna. And... something went through our possessions. I’ve recovered most of it.” Gundrabu hands Kondor the barbarian’s pack, filled with all of Kondor’s gear that Gundrabu could find. “But your helm of brilliance is gone. Didn’t Tetranna say she wanted it? Perhaps whatever ransacked our equipment, but left us inviolate, sought that. I...” Gundrabu muses. “I have a spell. I can seek it out, if you desire it, and you’re not too weak. But we have no food, and my skin no longer holds water.”
