Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Kondor looks around, his great helm now glowing blue white hot as his eyes land on a shape in the shadows of the craggy wall at the slab. The standing shadow heaves dark raspy breaths. Eyes seem to lock on the barbarian from the dark.

Finally the vocal cords catch traction and reanimate..."The helm will be mine..."

[Everybody Roll d6]
[And if any of you lurkers are hiding in these shadows, now would be the time to finally jump in!]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

d6:  1!

Kondor draws his sword the instant he hears the rasping breathing. Something about this reminds him of Emral's corpse reanimating. This time Tetranna?!

Though he's tired, the barbarian is more than ready to strike back against the spirits who'd defiled the sanctuary and the body of his friend - and now done the same to Tetranna(?)

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

D6- 6!

Gundrabu intends to cast Aid onto Kondor. He will need to touch him, so he will rush to Kondor’s side if need be.

Aid
Level: clr 2; Range: touch; Duration: 1 turn
Duplicates the effects of the bless spell (q.v.), with the additional benefit of a temporary 1d8 hit point boost. These hit points may exceed the recipient’s normal hit point maximum. Any subsequent damage is drawn from the temporary hit points first, the remainder of which disappear upon the spell’s termination.

Bless
Level: clr 1, wch 2; Range: 0; Duration: 3 turns
All allies within 25 feet of the caster are blessed by this spell. They each gain a +1 bonus on any morale (ML) check, a +1 bonus on any saving throw versus fear effects (sorcery, device, etc.), and a +1 “to hit” bonus on all attack rolls. The reverse form of this spell, blight, curses all hostile creatures within 25 feet of the caster, effecting −1 morale, −1 on saving throws versus fear effects, and a −1 “to hit” penalty on all attack rolls. N.B.: Either form of this spell affects only those within range at the moment the spell is cast; i.e., subsequently moving into or out of range has no impact on the spell’s effects.

Tetranna rolls a 2!

Kondor  draws his sword as the cleric begins to pray.

Kondor has the initiative.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Kondor isn't looking forward to it, and is thankful he isn't nearly as attached to this person as he was to Emral - yet he will not suffer their corpse the indignity of un-death!

Kondor moves to the witch-corpse with his sword and hacks at her -

Writing the post before rolling THIS d20: 4! +3, so 7!

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

[Just making sure +1 for Kondor to hit is factored for Gundrabu’s Aid spell.]

Since Kondor has rushed off before the prayer is completed...
Gundrabu could follow him out on 1/2 move on phase one, and complete the touch spell on phase two, after which he can gain the Kraken's enhancements.

Please advise on Gundrabu's wishes.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

ooc: oops. heh, um... well, serves me right. Now we see if Kondor dies horribly in a moment.

If Gundrabu tags him next, though, he'll have two opportunities to miss, this time with a bonus!

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Okay, Kondor rushes out and attacks, the cleric chasing after.

Phase 1. Kondor roll attack. Cleric Half move. & Tetranna kill them both!

Should I reroll the previous attack roll?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Gundrabu chases after Kondor. If Gundrabu’s spell hasn’t landed yet, he tries to get a hand on him and cast it.

Ah I forgot

Miss!

Tetranna lunges forward, a blur of fury and bared ragged teeth!
11!  Kondor bats her away but she quickly regains her footing!

on Phase 2: Gundrabu enters the danger and with a nod to the Kraken, lays his hands on the barbarian.

[Barbarian gains the effects of AID for round 2. +1 to hit, +1 save fear, and temp HP add.]

[End of Round 1.]

[Kondor state intentions and roll initiative.]
[Gundrabu state intentions and roll initiative.  Plus, roll 1d8 for Kraken's Aid HP bonus.]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Kondor slashes at Tetranna's undead corpse, once, twice, hoping to at least lure her into a spot in the room where the boats and design of the room will work to his advantage.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Tetranna rolls  4.

Kondor takes the advantage hacking twice at his newfound foe. His 12 with the Aid of Kraken 13 cleaves into the witch, she shrieks in agony as the bastard sword removes her forearm. "I will be the one to return the helm!"

Luckily she dodges the ferocious barbarian's second swing.

And 18! sinks her ragged teeth into Kondor's neck! [Kondor -3HP  (16/23 - 3= 13/23)

Gundrabu retuns the hastily dropped baggage and fishes out the correct parchment by the end of Round 2!
