Re: Hyperborea Trivia

I split the shield, the shield I split, and upon the splitted shield I sit.

I've never felt comfortable enough to type that around anyone before.

Now: What did I major in in adventurer college? And for extra credit, what's my main personality trait?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Shield splitting is an advanced combat thing with a required weapons mastery in the hand axe.

Weapons mastery is a figher, and subclasses, class ability.

Not sure about temperament. Someone willing to throw an axe at a person with a shield?

What? Me worry?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Righto! Hand axe it is.

For temperament, I was looking for "a jerk." Q.v. Steve Martin.

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

If you were to fight a lacedon which weapon would you prefer, assuming you were proficient in it: hand axe, spear, long sword?

What? Me worry?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

OK--I'll bite. Spear because we're underwater and everything else has penalties. Though I'd also like scuba gear. If I can. Please.

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Correct there, Handy.

I thought about adding a bow to the mix but I didn't see any explicit penalties for it will "in"/"under" water.

Is there scuba gear in the treasury? Not that we couldn't add it, "radium powered breathing apparutus".

Have at it Handy.

What? Me worry?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Yay! Laser-whales!

OK, which Hyperborean god do the druids claim (hope?) is the leader of the Wild Hunt?

Not a scratch on 'em!

I hear googlepedes are vulnerable to hand axes!

If said hand axe perhaps twains a googlepede will the two parts also be infinite?

...before fatidic silver pools on a auspicious night stood a Hyperborean Xathoqquan priestess; stripping naked like a beast crawling in on all fours in supplication...

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

There goes the neighbohood!

For the record, guys, it's "googolpede"; half of it would still be quite long, but it's not infinite.

Trivia?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Buck naked berserkers are a daily hazard in some parts of Hyperborea.  Name at least two places where such unsavory encounters are likely.

Sadly, my poor shaman shall never know the answer to this question...

Anyway, welcome aboard Monkeydono!

A New York City nightclub?

Kidding. Well, one answer is Thorgunna's Island. This charming weekend getaway locale comes fully equipped with a "naked horde of lotus-chewing wild berserkers." Not sure on the second location. I came across lots of mentions of savage nakedness, but no other specific mention of berserkers unless I missed something.

Anlates Island has savage naked Amazons and Ixians
The Black Forest Inlet has naked cannibalistic men
Onja Cot has naked Pictish cannibals

I'm detecting a pattern here. Jeff, is there something you'd like to talk about?

Clothing is optional after one becomes a cannibal or lotus chewer. (and a savage amazon...).

I was thinking the same thing when I asked the question!
Those are the localities I had in mind.  Your turn.

It's a wild and woolly land, that Hyperborea. You've already uncovered the precipitous tip of scale: Chaos reigns supreme, whilst Law is a distinct minority. Civilization is crumbling, and the inevitable triumph of barbarism is at hand.
