Mag Nor the orc king of the city-state of Orcust.

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Right!  I thought it was funny the orc was one of only two rulers to get an "official" name.

Your turn.

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

While the lands and seas of Hyperborea are teeming with dangerous beasts and monsters there are but two that are unsurpassed in their ability to withstand and minimize physical damage. What are they?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Withstand and minimize, eh? Well, I'm taking you at your word and thinking about things "native" to Hyperborea . . . and trying to roll without looking at the book . . . how about the thew wagon and the minotron?

It's mainly to not have to think up more questions.

But yes, my pants are fancier than yours. Than all of yours!

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Looks like your pants aren't fancy enough there, Mr. Handy.

While the thew wagon and the minotron are very stout, they do not have the raw staying power in melee that these two do.

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

Do Chainsaw's fists each count as a separate monster?

Re: Hyperborea Trivia

OK, since Chainsaw made fun of me, I looked in the book. How about the iron automaton and the colossal squid? An ancient tree-man has the same HD and AC as the iron automaton but fewer immunities.

Now the pressure's really on, heh.

Colossal squid and blue whale have the most hit dice at 18 each.

True--but the blue whale's AC is crummy (that's why they always try to be in the second rank of the marching order!). I was thinking Bill was looking for the best combo of toughness and defense?

Seems like these are turning out more like riddles than trivia questions...

That is correct!

I was a bit surprised that these two brutes had higher Hit Dice than any other monster in the book. Although Hit Dice is in truth only one factor of the monster's challenge in battle.

I was just looking for the highest hit dice monsters. Hit Dice being described as the measure of the ability to withstand and minimize physical damage (don't have my books with me at work, but I believe the passage is in the players' book under Other Characteristics).
