    Experience points for monsters

    I have a question about the experience points for monsters table on p294...

    I'm just wondering what the origin of this progression is.  The progression (the XP value for a given HD range) looks different to the one in the 1e DMG/OSRIC as well as that for Holmes Basic or the Basic Expert book.  Is this progression bespoke for AS&SH or does it derive from elsewhere?
