Here is a cool article about The Astrononmer's creator where he mentions one of our D&D campaigns as inspiration for his work.
Again, if you havent checked out The Astronomer, use the link a couple of replies above to read the first three Chapters (individual books) for free!

I am not sure... Besides the Chaplin and the Disney characters, who is Tramp? If you don't mind me asking.

He does it all by hand with graphite then ink. I believe he then scans each page and touches it up in Photoshop to prep for printing.

Here is an awesome inde comic one of my good friends has been working on for the last 5 years. He is absolutely amazing artist. I do not know why he isn't famous yet hehe. It is full of weird sci-fi fantasy awesomeness. He is a regular at our gaming table and I feel his work is a great inspiration for any Hyperborean game, let alone a true piece of art for your occular nerve to behold! The first three chapters of his four part comic epic "The Astronomer" are currently on this site for free for a time:

Check em out. You wont regret it.

Mastodon - Blood Mountain!

A progrock metal album about a dude in search of a Crystal Skull which he hopes to place at the top of Blood Mountain, which is supposedly a ritual that removes "the reptilian brain" causing its owner the ability to achieve the next step of human evolution. Along his journey, the dude encounters a Cysquatch, a one-eyed sasquatch that can see into the future, who warns the of the following dangers during the journey for the Crystal Skull, which includes sprinting through a forest of murderous "Birchmen". The album is Hyperborean as all get out!

Television and Film » Mad Max - Fury Road! » 5/22/2015 11:32 am

Now if this isn't a film that inspires Hyperborean adventuring weirdness I don't know what would. Absolutely beautiful film that went from one seat gripping scene to the next. I enjoyed every second of it in the theatre. If you haven't seen it yet YOU MUST see it in the theatre for the full experience. I can't wait to get it on Blu-Ray so I can see all the extended and deleted scenes, along with being able to pause to enjoy all wonderful art design dripping (or in this case "vrooming") off the screen.

I couldnt help but imagine all the vehicles replaced with horses, camels, mammoths, pterodactyls, and velociraptors in making one helluva AS&SH adventure! GO SEE IT! And if you have seen it, what were your thoughts?

Awesome! Glad it made the pledge goal. This Friday I will be throwing in my money once I get a couple more coppers in my pouch. Art looks great. Wish I could throw down for a print.

Ditto! I always love sitting back after a campaign and seeing the random path players took and the kind of story they ended up carving out for their characters. I do wish we knew what the curse of the Black Fief was though! http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/tongue.png

Was this run sandbox style? If so, did the players just stumble into things you had mapped out, or was it improvised, or a little bit of both? Would have they ever made it to the Black Fief if they just beelined it to Greenlee? Just curious.
