I also like then a lot, they remind me of the swine-things from Hodgson's The House on the Borderland and the swine monsters from the videogame Darkest Dungeons. I'm not sure I have seen them portraited as noble savages, but that is not how I like my orcs.

Natural AC is 9. Does armor adds a bonus or armor has it's own AC?

A PC with padded armor is AC 8, but how about an orc, who is natural AC 6? Does a padded armor worsen his AC from 6 to 8 (unlikeley), does he is still AC 6 (doesn't make sense), or does he get a bonus, thus being now AC 5?

And what if the same orc is wearing a Full Plate armor (AC 1)? Is he now AC -2?

Why are there orcs in this game? I haven't read all of the HPL, CAS or REH stories, much les all of Burroughs's, Merritt's or Lieber's, or anyone else's mentioned in AS&SH, but I haven't found orcs in their stories, so, other than a (sine qua non) trope of ficción, why are there orcs here?

I'm not saying it's wrong or anything, I'm just asking.

I'll add this little guy to my LotFP campaign, it will be a familiar or animal compasión to a broos* horde I'm currently writing about.

*broos are goatkin, humanoids with goat head, from RuneQuest and other Gloranthan games. Nasty creatures, they need nasty pets.

They are called troops, then state a unit and a officer commands a unit. Is unit = troop?

It's mostly a moot point, because how many campaigns really run to 9th level, and how many actually involve domain management? My experience back in the 1980's, when I was a teen and could play D&D all the time, was that the answers were "very few" and "none" respectively. I'm thinking for older gamers (which I believe most of us are) the answers are going to be "even fewer" and "still none". http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/smile.png

Yeah, none or almost none. But still, there's rules for then because some people might be interested in this (there are, indeed, as de can read above). I have never been interested in then, but I have never been a player myself, only GM.

My own take? No rules apply. The rules as written don't make a lot of sense. It should be built on a case by case basis. Nothing prevents a 9th level wizard to hire more henchmen and officers as the player ser fit for his own purposes. There are clear rules for hirelings, it should be used here, as well.

I don't allow common language in my games. A character needs to learn new languages or be smart to communicate with others.

One PC wants to talk to one NPC but they don't share a language. The PC rolls one d20 plus his INT modifier vs 20 minus the NPC's INT modifier. It can be a high difficulty, but it should not be easy, anyway. Your PC can get a special bonus of +1 if you can justify it in relation to your background, class, carecer, equipment. If you need the blacksmith to repair your sword and you show him your broken weapon and mimic the hammering, you get the bonus.

I have yet to read the gazetteer, but if* I run a Hyperborea campaign, there won't be any gods.

*if, because I'm really attached to Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Call of Cthulhu and Savage Worlds, and I'm waiting for The King in Yellow, that I don't think I will engage with another game, at least until I get tried of these.

Long story short, the full system is too clunky, the magic system is weak and not particularly Conan, and they are basically writing new (bad) pastiche to fill blanks that don't need to be filled.

Conan 2d20 doesn't feel as a Conan game but as a regular D&D clone. The book is a pain to read, it's bad written, unclear and boring. Also, some rules are hard to find because they are not in the chapter One would think they would.

It's a bit dissapointment, Modiphius promised a lot more than it accomplished to deliver. Ever felt cheated?

I tried to run a game. I paid so I should play, right? But we (me and my group) weren't able to finish the first session, the rules get in the way and after 3 hours, we still tried to figure how the hell a wizard was supossed to be created. So we dropped this game for ever and went back to Call of Cthulhu.
