Have pre-ordered 3E from Leisure Games here in the UK!
UK based Hyperboreans it is worth noting they are still taking pre-orders and my experience with Leisure Games has always been good.
Very stoked! Cant wait!

Thank you Jimm.Iblis I will do.
Actually just managed to get a copy of the big 2e book so will have a look.
We had the Players Handbook as they were available here in the UK through Leisure Games. We are very new to Hyperborea (only 2 sessions into Anthropophagi Of Xambaala).

Thanks for the tip gizmomathboy.
Would you use that as a general 'house rule' with regards to a big enough group of opponents?
I have a situation in Xambaala where the group I referee have been involved in the assassination of a cleric from the Temple of Helios and I was going to have them arrested and tried and possibly thrown into the arena in Xambaala for some gladiatorial action!
I was wondering how to 'arrest' them as the party tank, a Kimmerian Beserker usually tries to fight everything!

Thank you Sasquatch you beat me to asking for clarity on that.
Happy birthday! And thank you again for the reply.

Thank you all, that helps a lot!
My group really enjoys the hack and slash of combat so I want to get as comfortable as possible with the rules so that they have as many options available to them as possible without it just becoming a back and forth dice rolling exercise. (Although that is a factor.)
The phases and combat options definitely add a role playing element to the combat to which I would like to encourage in my group.
Thanks again for the answers everyone.

Hello all,
Another combat question, we play mostly 'theater of the mind' with friends online.
Our first adventure ended with our party disturbing gloom-eater zombies at a Mausoleum so our next adventure will start with multiple zombies attacking the group.
I just wanted to ensure I handle this combat correctly as referee, I will ask them to indicate on the map, which I put up as a share screen, where their characters are and to pick targets.
How many opponents can attack a PC?
I assumed one per exposed side (of the square they occupy on the map)? Apologies if a very straight forward question and thanks again for your help!
Regards
Micah

Hello,
I am new to Hyperborea and we started our first adventure last night with the Anthropophagi of Xambaala.
A question came up that I couldn’t find the answer to (searched forums) to avoid repeating questions but couldn’t find the answer.
Do combat bonuses in melee attacks ‘stack’? We have a very strong Kimmerrian Berserker, so would he get his + to hit and damage, and his + to hit and damage when in a rage and should he ever (Kthulu forbid) get a magic weapon + that to his to hit and potentially damage rolls too?
Thank you in advance,
Regards
Micah

Hello,
This is very exciting news!
I have only just discovered Hyperborea, began playing D&D (BECMI then AD&D) back in the early 1980's. Long lay off after university and then moved country and and work/family took over.
Picked up 5e 2 years ago to introduce it to my daughter now that she is older but just wasn't quite the same. Wound up tracking down original AD&D manuals on eBay and actually reconnected with a friend after 30+ years at the start of the Pandemic and have been playing once a week online again with our kids and wives for the last year.
Our entry point to fantasy was Robert E Howard so Hyperborea ticks the boxes for us! Very excited to see 3e is coming soon! I have picked up the 2e pdf from DriveThruRPG to get started but am looking forward to the new release! Will this be a Kickstarter?
Regards
Micah
