Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

I’m not near my books but I will roll a d20 and post it. Yes I have a 10 constitution, and warlock saves are sorcerer saves, I think?  I’m regretting that my Charisma is likely higher for this adventure. Plus side, you’re not playing with min max gamers?  😳

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

D20: 12!  I’m hoping it’s not a roll under system.

Warlock is a subclass of Fighter.
Saving Throw is a singular in Hyperborea. But classes get bonuses.
Warlock gets Transformation +2 & Sorcery +2.

Saving throw at level 2 is 16. Meet or exceed system.

Can we channel this fire in his eyes towards his next Burning Hands Spell? Additional 1d6 of damage?

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The onslaught of both of your vicious blades is too much for the trapped creature and the pool fills with its blood before it runs freely down the the drain grate and down through the opened hatch in the floor.

The carcass lays across a fourth of the pool.

[each add 9 XP.]

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral cleans his blade, then checks the wound for any infectious slime or anything else he can wipe off to perhaps reduce the disease he fears the rat bite might have.

Then he climbs down the ladder, carefully, looking around.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

There's no slime, but ithe bite stings like hell.

Emral carefully descends the ladder holding the rungs with one hand and his lantern with the other.

The room is 10 x 10. The walls are made of boards and crude metal nails, with more wax stuffed in the seams.
There is a tall wooden rack on the other side of the room, its legs and possibly more shelves submerged.
The top shelf has a one inch thick flat piece of brilliant metal layed across the top.
On next shelf two large burlap sacks which look full.
Below that...

Suddenly more movement in the water catches your fiery eye.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

While climbing down, Emral places the lantern on the second shelf, and draws his sword in his other hand.

As the movement starts Emral calls out "What newcomer is this? Challenging an UrVarlokr is deadly, I warn you. Come in peace and leave in one piece!"

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

The rack with shelves is 10 feet away on the other side of the room, you cannot reach it.

The rickety ladder groans loudly under your weight as you even think to lean toward the far away shelf and draw your sword.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Ok. Emril can hand it to me as he decends. I can come in after he reaches the bottom. Retrieving my dagger.

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral hands the lantern back up to Malak. And pulls his sword. Drawing the attention of 3 more giant rats which surface from underneath the rack and begin to swim toward their prey!

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

As they are swimming I throw my dagger at the lead one:
Attack: 19
Damage 4

Re: The Scorched Sanctuary

Emral notes the shapes swimming at him, the heads emerging out of the water. His warlock eyes flash with fiery light as he unleashes his eldritch fury - still roiling within from the fight moments before.
