Sometimes it's best to just let the monsters fight each other and run away.

Probably a question for the fine mods here. Where would be most appropriate to post workshop type threads for fleshing out adventures or things? The last one I posted as a 'game lab' but had to use the play by post forum. I don't want to necessarily plug up general discussion.
Thanks !

Just read The Font of Glee this eve from Knockspell 3. It is an intro adventure/mini sandbox written by Jason Sholtis in the OU vein. I liked it.

Sounds cool. I like the weapon and armor listings in Mutant Future if you haven't seen those. They are in this vein.

A cross country mission takes place. The 'party' owns a stolen 1940's freight truck. The pure humans would be in the cab with forged papers. The mutated plants and replicants are stowed in the rear trailer along with some supplies/weapons etc.

Possible encounters:

checkpoint in Butte MT that goes wrong when the nazi guards want to take a look in the back.
The group become wanted, need to switch vehicles
The group has very little reichs marks, need to steal for petro , food etc. Need to acquire better weapons
Break in/assault at fortified villa of Martin Bormann

Ganymedeans have been observing that carbon dioxide levels have been rising steadily in the last century. Levels have researched such they can survive without aid in the terran environment.

They plan to increase the use of hydrocarbons to further elevate co2 levels. They have also noted they have a taste for methane and look to increase those levels as well.

Nuclear power is to be avoided, nuclear weapons, not so much.

Ammonia and nitrates act like narcotics on Ganymedeans.

I like these angles/thoughts, thanks!

The replicants are simulacra of Rudolf Hess, Martin Bormann, and Albert Speer.

The 'party' would be comprised of these replicants, mutated plants local to Gamymede, and pure strain human partisans.

An initial objective would be to infiltrate the Reich leadership to a point where the actual Hess, Bormann, and/or Speer could be quietly assassinated and replaced.

Motivations of the Gamymedeans<?>

Upon landing they establish contact with the local underground resistance/partisans.

Earth 1959,
The Nazis never broke the non-aggression pact with Stalin. The allies surrender ending the War. Japan is appeased with all of Asia. A puppet government is established in the USA.

A landing party from Ganymede descends upon earth, landing undetected in a remote area in central Oregon. It is comprised of a small group of Mutated plants and Replicants of Aryan looking men (Mutant Future ruleset).

I have no geek cred points!

Me neither. The answer though is David Bowman (from 2001, 2010), actor's name is Keir Dullea

You just have to picture the guy with short hair and no mustache and saying '"open the bay doors HAL"...http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/nerdy.png

The guy pictured in the above screenshot I didn't recognize offhand because he looks much different in the role that made him famous.

3 geek cred points if you can name his very famous character name from a very famous sci fi movie (2 movies actually)
'
10 geek cred points if you can give his actual real name

(this would be without watching the video because he says his name in the videohttp://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/cool.png

Has anyone here played an AS&SH game with characters 9th level or above? How did it go in relation to doing that with 1e Ad&d?

Side question - how much experience do you have with playing 1e or B/X or similar ruleset at these high levels?
Do you feel the game breaks down in some ways? Or do/did you enjoy it?

Thanks, just want to hear some opinions. I am running a level 10-12 1e game this wknd...

I hear you, I feel fortunate to live in WA state where a lot of things are legal (everything except plastic shopping bags and styrofoam take out boxes). I find it easy to place myself in a fantasy mind set.
