In looking at the celebrity game, I'm a little confused how there is 5 seats taken. I thought there were only 2 Diamond badges?

There are 10 diamond badges, or there equivalent. I can give you their names :-)

Some thoughts I had the other day while listening to Orange Goblin some more

Orange Goblins

This tribe/faction are the most feared because they relentless hunt Chronomancers.

It is an open secret that the first chronomancer was an Orange Goblin. It is this stain on their honor that drives them to hunt down and kill chronomancers without mercy.

It is rumored that because Orange Goblin Warp Riders generally find and make use of Time Gates/Warps the most naturally. Use of them isn't forbidden because they traverse to Whens that are stable and most resistant to Time Warps. Also, even with the ability to Warp Rider these Gates are very distant from each other and can't be Warped to/from as well.

One does not talk about Chronomancy and how that it was an Orange Goblin that created the First Heresy in the presence of Orange Goblins. One can...but one may not be able to talk for long afterwards.

I'm with Ghul. The Lug is mostly wet land but I've but low rocky hills, copse of trees, and such. Also lots of grassy lands that are a pain to get through.

Here's a picture of an Irish peat bog. Looks like one might get a decent sized palisade out of it. I bet Swampgate doesn't have a lot of trees around it anymore.

I guess I'm super lucky in that none of my players ever played the newer-school games. But to me this sounds awful. Maybe I just embrace a higher-lethality game, but I find that the blowback is worse when the carefully crafted character dies an hour an in than when the third or fourth "set of stats waiting for a post hoc story" makes it to second level.

I don't know. I feel like even my letting them roll 4d6 is super indulgent and obviates even having dice at all!

It's possible I'm a bad person?

All I know is I like every bad dice roll more than any bad person.

Well said! And no, you're not a bad person. It's just a classic approach. There's nothing wrong with point-buys and superheroes either, it's just a different approach.

No, I've met Handy face to face, he is in fact a bad person ;-)

I mean, at least he isn't an &*#%@ *and* a bad person :-)

I think if I was going to use 3d dungeon stuff Dragonlock would probably be it:

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/166074/DRAGONLOCK-Ultimate-Dungeon-Starter-Set

Francisca noted that you could pre-assemble the rooms as needed and add them quickly as the dungeon was explored. You could build up a DF dungeon as you go but I think it would be much slower.

I have several boxed of DF stuff from I think their first KS that I haven't opened let alone used.

Dragonlock would require access to a 3d printer, but you can get the monoprice one for about $220. It's got tons of good reviews and I'm constantly yearning for one:

https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Select-Printer-Heated-Filament/dp/B01FL49VZE

They are coming out with a slightly less expensive one but I'm not sure the date on that.

Well, with Chainsaw dropping out, I'll add two on-grid games of AS&SH.  I'll also step up and run off-grid games each night, in the suite.  It won't be Foolsgrave, but I'll kill your sorry asses with as much mirth as Chainsaw, with an added dosage of that "penchant for brutality" he mentioned.

Great, goats of the black gulf are in our near future.

Yeah, was totally looking forward to Foolsgrave with my dude that has survived 3 trips into it.

I was also curious as to how mavfire was gonna die each time. ;-)

I'm a regular roll20 DM as well. I pay for top level of support of whatever which mostly just gets me access to some tokens/pogs/whatever when I don't have a png for a monster or something. I just search the art repo and grab and go. The free tier works just fine I think.

I found a "good" way to resize/adjust/whatever the maps I make with inkscape to scale properly and "snap" to a grid.

I would be interested in your tutorial as well, as much to kibitz as to see if there are any interesting tidbits to learn.

What do you use for audio? Roll20's webRTC isn't quite up to snuff just yet. When I DM I use google hangouts. Another group I'm a player in we use Skype. I've heard good things about Discord as well.

I have a road heading "east" (as near as such in hyperborea) out of Stonebrook. I hadn't decided where it will go other than "Brigands Bay area".

My best guess would be maybe 500 each. Maybe say 300-400 at Grassland and 100-200 at Hillvale. I'm just guessing that based on Stonebrook being 2,000 and its vassal towns wouldn't be too close in size.

They are at the extreme edge of Stonebrooks rule per the Gazetteer.

I think my rough outline for improvements would be to include a few tiny towns beyond these two. They would be out of Stonebrooks direct rule. Throw in some smaller holdings between Stonebrook, Grassland, and Hillvale but are not much more than a grouping of farmers and such.

Very nice work, gizmo! I'm especially fond of what you put together for the bottom map on post #7.

Thanks, Ghul!

I think I want to make the town a tiny bit bigger to give some more potential for shenanigans there. I also want do some more with the surrounding area (put some farms and such in there).

I just quickly created this and I have meant to go back and do a bit more work on it. Not a whole lot but enough to give me a framework to work with. Maybe even for folks to grab and spark their own ideas.

I always forget how close this area is to Brigands Bay and how that would/should create a bit of mayhem. :-)

Grassland is roughly 18 miles from Stonebrook and Hillvale is about 18 miles from Grassland. That is a day's walk (18 miles) for someone with 30 MV.

I found the map of your's I was using as a reference and I think this is roughly where the 2 towns/villages are.

I'm planning on doing more work on Stonebrook. I think it needs more towers (it is know for it's trebuchets and such :-)

I think have I have Grassroad only having a palisade and Hillvale barely that.

I stuck the Tomb of the Iron God about a day's ride north of Hillvale.

I had my Lost Ranger Patrol a few days west of Stonebrook into the Lug.

Hmmm, I don't seem to have notes about Stonebrook nor the 2 towns/villages nearby.

But here are the maps I have.
